Until the last 14-15 years LSU history wasn't glamorous.
one of the dumbest things I've ever read on here. You don't know shite about anything pre-Saban. I'm guessing that is when you first discovered LSU, am I right?
LSU has a rich football history. Go read a book, or watch a movie about it! ( I have an extra copy of The Ole War Skule) if you are so interested.

The infrastructure that he has had success under was put in place by Saban. All he has done is the drive the car.
Hmmm...so Saban didn't coach any of DiNardo's players huh? Weird.

So of the crucial scores that brought us from behind and gave us a comfortable lead, One was scored by the kicking game. Two others were on series that only had to go 27 and 17 yards to go and even the one long drive was setup by a defensive interception.
Should the offense have apologized and given the ball back?

KICKING GAME and DEFENSE
LSU pounded the ball down Georgia's throat for 200 yards rushing in the second half. 200 fricking yards rushing in one half and you trying to say it was only kicking game and defense.
LSU averaged 215 yards rushing PER GAME in 2011 and they had 200 in the second half alone against Georgia, but only kicking and defense won that game.
Get off the drugs!

This is the worst defense ever. It basically says that CLM struggles in CFB while having NFL talent
In what world is finishing in the top 15 8 out of 10 seasons, struggling?

CLM is just an underachieving coach that half of the fan base will defend to the end
Holy shite. Underachieving? He just have lsu it's most successful 10 year stretch ever.
Since Miles' hire:
1. No program has been ranked in the top 25 more weeks.
2. No program has beaten more ranked teams.
3. Only 2 cfb programs have more wins.
4.no program has a better ooc record.
5. No 10 year stretch in lsu history has come close to his success.
If that's underachieving then sign me up for more underachieving.

Get off the drugs!
Try refuting what I said, not just repeating what you already said including the infantile name calling. I'll refute what you said without name calling or repeating myself.
Your whole thing is that the offense had 200 yards rushing in the second half. So we had a great rushing offense that game then right? Do you know what our third down conversion rate was for the game? 1 of 9. Is that indicative of a great running game?
You only talk about one half and one part of an offense. Georgia out passed us 218 yards to 30 for the game. Total offense was Georgia 296 and us 237. Georgia had 85 offensive plays to our 48. Time of possession was 36 minutes for them and 23 minutes for us.
Not very good numbers for a one dimensional ball control offense that is supposed to be keeping the ball away from the other team's offense.
As someone else pointed out in another post, Georgia flat out dropped several easy pass completions that would have gone for scores. Could our running game pulled the game out if Mathieu hadn't had his punt return touchdown and we had gone into halftime down 17-0 or 24-0.
Most likely not. You need a passing game to come from that far back.

passing game
It has been so long since we have had a true passing team, that for the life of me I can't even remember. I'm not talking about mettenberger. that was run and pass off play action. sadly with miles and his brilliance, I don't foresee a true passing team ever under Miles. And posters just can't understand why LSU can't land a real QB. Think other schools aren't refreshing Franks' memory concerning this ? I still am willing to bet BH never starts a game for LSU, unless it's against McNeese. He should have already transferred.

He already started a game and it was an SEC game.
Don't follow LSU much, huh.

Hopefully, Franks memory is better than yours. Maybe he will recall that 2 true Fr. have started for LSU fairly recently.

Nobody cares how long or how many games that a coach coaches. He won one national championship with 2 losses. Made it to another one because of sheer talent, and got his a$$ handed to him. The man is not a great coach. I can't call him a bad coach because yes he did win one. He is and always will be an average coach with a great record mainly off of talent not his coaching. Mediocre coaching and mediocre teams most years. And get used to it because more mediocre teams with him as coach are coming.

quote:Sadly, this is going to be Miles' legacy: 10+ win seasons are considered mediocre, a national championship season is just marginally acceptable because there were losses that season, and an undefeated regular season and conference championship season is a failure worthy of termination due to losing the BCS game.

His time has come and gone. I've never liked him as a coach and never will. He never beat Mack Brown while at Oklahoma State (0-4) and he also lost the SEC championship in his first season. That's his legacy to me
You gave up on LSU football in 2005? What a moran! Try a Youtube search for LSU Football 2007.

I'm having trouble with a few things:
-Believing that anyone would belittle a 32 point win in a championship game.
-The idea of waving a wand and swinging 21 points in Georgia's favor.
-The idea that in this fantastical scenario you created, that LSU still destroys Georgia in turnovers, LSU still runs for 200 yards and scores TDs on 4/5 second half drives.
-And that even in this ludicrous hypothetical, LSU still wins the game 35-24.
