That's a nice bonus %. What line of work?

I can't speak for the Mrs but I put back 15-25% of net each month (2/3 into personal savings, 1/3 into joint savings).

I'm probably around 25% of gross. I don't feel like calculating an exact amount nor do I really care to be that exact on the figure. In short, I save plenty.
This is all pre-bonus, which all goes into savings as well.

That meeting would justify me posting at work.

your expense account or mine?
Posted on 7/6/15 at 10:25 am to yellowfin
It's always the banker's expense account.
You clearly need better bankers.

We don't have bankers....no debt

you still have bankers.
We save about 33% of our gross income over a year. Month to month it varies, based on how much I make that month.

It seems like more than a few of us are in the same 30%+ of gross range.
Since I was in my 20's, I've used forced savings/investments. My "debt" payments to my savings/investment accounts are just as real as any other debt that I have. If you go by the old adage, "pay yourself first", it doesn't take long to build a nice enough nest egg.
The sad thing is that the fiscal attitudes that are prevalent on this board are about as rare as a Dodo on boards that would better represent the general population.
