It was reported a few times early on that they were seen on or around railroad tracks. I wonder why they didn't ride a freight train, early and often, and get far away?

You ever seen how fast a freight train moves in rural areas?

Trains were being watched like a hawk from the get go and tracks were close to the prison. Anything that could move in New York was being watched and searched at checkpoints.

They'd have been better off traveling by Amtrak. I mean who'd ever imagine these two crafty cons to travel by America's most uncomfortable, behind-schedule transportation system?

These idiots should have know you can't get away, especially nowadays. You have to either have a very good outside associate or get very lucky.

They had absolutely no backup plan once that lady backed out. If I were planning some elaborate escape you better believe I will have a plan to never be found. I don't know why they just didn't steal a few cars and head to Mexico or somewhere else then fly out of one of their aiports to a country that has no extradition treaty with the U.S.

I would have gotten to NYC, get some fake passports from Chinatown and disappeared.

Would have been a good idea in the beginning of the escape.

It was a little further than that. And as I said earlier. It's not like crossing over the border means they're scot free

So is this guy going back to a New York State prison or are they going to try to get him out to the supermax in Colorado?

CNN said a awhile ago that the 2nd guy was two miles away from the Canadian board and thirty one miles away from the prison.

No, but I'm still a bit surprised that authorities were able to kill one and capture the other one alive. Given the fact that they have been on the run for 21 days. I expected them to be on the move at all times. Especially at night.

This second guy was caught walking around town in daylight. Pretty stupid move imo.

Constable, NY is closer to 8-10 miles away according to Google Maps.

And these woods are thick. Hard to move during the day, let alone at night. And you've got to move close to civilization to get food/water, etc.

He'll likely be put in the SHU for the rest of his life.
