Do Germans defend Hitler and the nazis?

After all, Hitler's main goal was to restore order for what he perceived as incredible injustice against Germany post WWI. Yeah he had the whole holocaust thing but if you can look past that and see how he was fighting for the rights of his fellow countryman, couldn't the nazis be viewed with a sense of reverence from proud German citizens who view Nazis as a symbol of their great country and heritage, fighting for their justice?

I think saying anything good about Nazis or displaying the swastika is outlawed there. I know France has some sort of anti hate speech law like that. The Nazi party is outlawed for sure.

As of the mid 80s when i was there, many germans didnt believe the holocaust was real

The 1930s-1940s didn't happen in Germany. They were all on vacation.

Before visiting Germany I was told by multiple people in the US that the Germans never talk about the holocaust or the bad stuff that went down under the Third Reich, but there is a huge Holocaust memorial in Berlin, and there is a memorial outside of the Reichstag for politicians that were killed for opposing the Nazis.

What's sad is that images of Stalin are fine on this board but images of Hitler aren't.
Stalin is responsible for 30 million more death's and even killed some of his family off.. Both should be off limits.

They've still got a few decades to go before they catch-up with the yankee occupation of the South. And we Americans never visited the crimes upon Germans or Germany that the yankees did to Southerners during Reconstruction.
