what the hell else is he going to do?
His talk shows? His regular job at the 104.5 station?
Again, I don't know if its the same, but I once had a situation in my life years ago when someone from the outside got a job that I wanted and had worked for and I had a tough time working with that guy and I eventually moved on. This radio situation reminded me of that. Maybe I was just a soft miserable SOB and should have sucked it up. Who knows.

can't see that being better than working for LSU in any capacity. He wasn't good enough to be the PBP guy

Monetarily, I can guarantee you he makes an arse-load more working for 104.5 doing all of his shows...and I think he has a "title" there also.
Again, just random speculation. He may welcome the new dude with open arms, kinda like Journey, and they all live happily ever after.

Salary wise maybe...but the benefits at LSU have to be much better...and he doesn't have to do any sales

I am pretty sure that all of the radio people not named Hawthorne are just paid per event that they do...they aren't LSU "employees".

Bottom Line:
Tiger fans, just like all humans, don't like change.
Even though probably 50% of all LSU fans would agree that it was time for Jim Hawthorne to move on, there is no one person that at least 75% of the fan base will agree on as "the right hire".
I, for one, think that Chris Blair has the talent and enthusiasm to be a great Voice of the Tigers for many years. Time will tell.
Let's face it. There were lots of people that thought Saban, Miles and Maneiri were bad hires.
But, "Hey Now", if we all agreed, there would be no need for the Tiger Rant.
Good luck Chris Blair and Go Tigers.

Wow. Never would've guessed that

Yeah...a guy who used to be a board-op for the games told me that a while back.
Posted on 6/22/15 at 11:10 am to LSUGrad9295
I always wondered how that worked. Any idea, how much per game , etc?

The guy who was the board-op hasn't done it in a while, but he made like $100 per game to play the commercials and get the broadcast on the air, etc. I think he told me the on-air guys didn't make much more than that...that basically it all amounted to a second job for all of them.

Better than Hanny or Collins.

Solid. I like his style.

Go back and listen to the replay and get back with me ..
I already know what he says but I pulled up the replay anyway so I could link it. I just don't know what you're listening to. Oddly enough, I could only find it as part of a collage of Hawthorne clips. It's at the 1:44 mark as Morris rounds 2nd base. He calls it a 2-run home run. Period.

That's correct. And the new guy technically won't be an LSU employee. He'll be employed by LSU Sports Properties which is a different entity all together.

So will this guy technically be hanagriff's boss now?

Are you deaf ? You can't hear 3-run homer?
Posted on 6/22/15 at 10:44 pm to TigahRag
Nope. I hear 2 run home run. You should go buy some q-tips.

You know, the funny thing is when I first replied to the other poster who stated that Hawthorne butchered the biggest call of his career, I was being somewhat sarcastic because I knew he was talking about the Bluegrass Miracle, which I wholeheartedly disagree with. So that makes two different differences of opinion I've had in this thread.
Too bad it's anchored now. Maybe I'll start a couple of polls.
