Maybe she was coming from Staring Motel?
Possibly. That's the one eye sore in Baton Rouge that I do NOT understand why it isn't just eradicated...like tomorrow. It's obviously not a hotel...it's obviously not frequented by decent people who just want a "getaway" in Baton Rouge.
I live very near where this occurred and the other posters are correct -- stop assuming it's mixed with Gardere. There are baller houses over there, even by OT standards.
Corrin was obviously playing in dirt and well, she got dirty. Judging, however, by her FB page, she looked like she had moved away from Dallas and was working...as good as it gets often for those like her.
My best guess? A cousin or a male friend lured them over...free drugs for sex type of thing. I am sure Brandi Gilbert was the driver and was promised a lot of the same. Typical case of getting the sex and maybe giving away just a little coke/dope to get the party started and then taking back the whole offer after execution style.
The 8100 block of Boone is surrounded by all sorts of side streets and at 11 pm, there is still plenty of traffic. I am sure some dirt went down elsewhere (possibly up the road in Gardere area) and this was a location that gave the shooter(s) a good escape route.
Sorry, Corrin. It appears that you were back on the prowl again, weren't you?

I know people that live in that area. It's a really good neighborhood but it's unfortunately located near a not so good neighborhoood which from time to time spills over into the good area. Probably what happened in this case.
And in Baton Rouge, unless you have moved way out of the city, this is always going to be the case. My folks live off Old Hammond, in a nice area...which is by Airline...which is self-explanatory.
The hood in BR is like an ocean that surrounds an island.

This is a block from my house. Ugh.
Magnolia Woods is a great neighborhood, but it is very close to Gardere and all that entails. Boone is a straight shot to Staring and not far from the infamous motel.

In 1974 it was "great"

This wreaks of a drug deal gone bad.

This doesn't seem random, so if you live there, I wouldn't worry.
On a side note, though, staring lane and some of the neighborhoods around it are not the best. Mayfair near Perkins isn't great, then you have the street across from Albertsons with some shitty apartment complexes, then you have Gardere

I am simply saying it's less than desirable of an area. That is all.
No. Where do you live? AP? LP? Central? Zachary?

Typical TD poster speak saying that Magnolia Woods is a bad area.
And no I don't live in Magnolia Woods or have ever lived there but I would
It's a great area to live and raise kids. But there are a few houses that are rentals to younger folks. Anything can happen in that situation. Not likely random.

I live in Kensington Estates. Why?

It has one google review.
I wonder what made him choose that place?

More like a series large and small Ghetto islands scattered throughout the ocean. I know it's hard to believe but, North BR isn't even that bad outside of pockets of crap. The folks up there hate apartment complexes, duplexes, thug life just as much as us folks south of Florida Blvd.

just trying to see if you were one of those people who live in white flightville and over react to things that go on in BR. Guess not. Interesting opinion of that area, you have.

On Albert Hart Drive several 200K houses have been torn down and replaced with 700K+ houses.

This one was for sale recently a few hundred yards from the murder scene.

This is a stupid statement.

My guess is it was a copycat crime. They were shot by a white supremacist on their way home from a Bible study at one of the churches on Staring Lane.

Wtf I grew up around that area.

Saying Magnolia Woods/Kenilworth is not a desirable part of town because of its proximity to starring is like saying Kensington isn't desirable because it is by Orleans Dr., Conti Dr., and Metairie Dr. near the Circle K with the wheelchair man always crossing Perkins.
They are both nice neighborhoods.
