Poche can pitch 3 times over the tournament, Lange cannot.

He left him too long. I knew that 3 batters before Paul did.

Gotta win the first game before you can consider others. Pitch your best guy, IMO.

no-one was questioning the decision of starting Poche till after he gave up 6 runs.

Could have thrown tom glavine out there and it probably wouldn't have mattered. Lineup is in the tank at the most important time of the season, as usual.

That'll come in handy when we need to bring in someone down the line to throw the ball 10 feet over the first baseman's head.

It's so easy to play the results. Starting poche was the correct move. He made two errors. All you can do in sports is give yourself the highest probability for success and hope the odds go in your favor. But it's sports. shite happens.

That throw to first

It was like I was watching Jefferson underhand a football to a linebacker

Poche was the Ace. He started more Game 1s than Lange did.....

Yep, just making those simple throws to first would make this a whole different game...

Poche was dominant until he made his throwing errors. We are playing a bad game on defense; I have never been sold on our offense against good pitching.
