(I don't know baseball)

What was Foster supposed to do since their catcher was sitting/covering the entire plate without the ball. It looked like he actually beat the throw if he hadn't slowed up at the last moment. Is the only play to plow into the catcher? What would a coach tell him to do next time?

Go on to youtube and type in "AJ Pierzynski vs. Michael Barrett". Trust me.

Don't listen to these guys. He was supposed to get a better break. Now as far as the slide he should have hook slid to the outside

not a thing- NCAA you can't hit the catcher so you do exactly what he did. It was just well executed by TCU

Only option is to slide wide right then reach your hand over.Catcher in college can block the plate as the ball is coming. I hate the rule but it is what it is.

He should have stopped and nicely asked the catcher to drop the ball and let him touch home plate. Sometimes being polite can work wonders with people.

The TCU catcher showed everyone that he is more than willing to sit on the plate and dare anyone. He did this in the SR as well. Nothing new here. Did LSU coaches prepare the team what to do with a catcher who dares anyone to move him off the plate? I don't know.

To me, catchers that do this should consider this possibility
