This movie made abundantly clear that Michael Crichton is long dead.

What else could they do though? One of the biggest reasons it took so long for another Jurassic Park movie is that the script changed like 3 or 4 times.

I have no clue. Which, in my mind, means you shouldn't do anything. I know that goes against the nature of Hollywood but I'd like to see nothing more happen with the franchise.

This is probably what we'll get. Jurassic Park: Resurrection

I thought it was enjoyable. Nice fun movie. Not the height of film making but I wasn't really expecting that.

Things I liked:

- The dinos were great. Well executed and appropriately impressive and scary.

- All the little homages to the original movie. I saw a ton of them and there are even some mentioned in this thread that I missed. One kind of subtle one was how when the leading lady character lit the flare to attract the T-Rex it was a clear throwback to the way Ian Malcolm did it.

- Chris Pratt was good.

- The Park itself looked awesome. Especially liked the gyro vehicles and the tank with the water dino.

- I thought the guy and the girl in the computer control room did good with their parts.

My Nitpicks (things that kept it from being a great movie IMO):

- The beginning of the movie was just boring.

- The leading lady did well as the competent corporate working lady. But less so as an action heroine. She was no Ripley from Alien or Sarah Connor from Terminator for sure. And doing all the running around in stiletto heels?

- The younger kid actor was pretty bad. Like bordering on young Anakin Sywalker type bad. And as someone said above, the continually crying mom was just aggravating.

- Perhaps the worst for me was the villian was so smirking and I kept expecting him to twirl his mustache. Way over the top.

I actually agree with every single one of your points. I would watch 2 full hours of just the CGI dinos.

They should just reboot the series all together. This time make them faithful to the books.

I LOVED the Easter eggs thrown in homage of the 1st movie.

This....

The whole sequence of the super excited science kid that is eager to see everything as soon as possible with the beginning part of the original theme building as they went into the park was just masterful.

It was John Hammond's dream personified.

Yeah, I know.

It just seemed that way at times....I knew it really wasn't that way but it just seemed like they gave raptors what should be a kill shot to decompress the action and get them out of the immediate scene.

It wasn't anything major....I think the main source of me feeling this way that just kept nagging me was when she rammed one of the raptors into a tree while it was going at full sprint. Possibly even getting the raptor caught between the tree and the car in the impact.

And yet he later caught up with the others.

Saw this tonight with my son, and have to say we were surprised by how enjoyable it was. I liked Pratt a lot more than any of the prior leads.

It was a great popcorn flick, a load of fun. Glad we took a chance on it at the theater instead of waiting for it to hit OnDemand.

I liked the angle with the raptors, it actually makes sense that they would be receptive to training. And really, that was a far more interesting approach than "OMG, you made ... velociraptors?!? Now humans are the endangered species!"

And like everyone else has said, it looked great. I saw maybe one shot (of the land dinos) that reminded you it was CGI, otherwise the illusion was perfect. And the park looked great too.

I did want to slap the younger kid, the mom, and the aunt; and the whole "mom and dad are going to get divorced" crap had my son and I going wtf, where did that come from? But I didn't expect anything from the humans at all, so Pratt by himself made up for them.

Thoughts on a possible sequel. What if when Wu was evacuated, they sent him to isla suara?

It's obvious you haven't been around a teenager in awhile, that's exactly how they act. Go to Disneyworkd sometime, you'll see kids walking around the coolest kid place in the world looking at their phones

Loved Jurassic World, but it's pretty hard for me to imagine any reasonable sequel. I mean isn't it abundantly obvious by now that this doesn't work?

It would have worked fine if they hadn't made Homer Simpson in charge of the new dinosaur enclosure. That fat frick sacrificed everyone else to save himself. If he would have done the honorable thing and not opened the doors, everything would have been fine.

Nah, next time they will REALLY make sure to spare no expense for the safety of the park visitors.

My comment card at the Jurassic World drop box would be to put a kill chip in them that I-Rex/Nikita/Jason Bourne can't dig out in thirty seconds.

If there's a sequel I bet it focuses on Dr. Wu and whatever embryos he ran off with. Probably more about InGen and genetic engineering and less about theme parks.

I liked it. It's hard for me to say it was better than the first movie but it's really close.

It's doing Avengers money.

There will be a sequel.

My guess would be Veloci-Rexes bread and in the field, and Chris Pratt is called in to put a stop to it.
