What Kind of Difference Would a Player Like Dellavadova Make on the Pelicans?

Having watched basketball since I was a kid, I don't think that you can underestimate these kinds of players. Yet, you rarely see them in the NBA. Rodman was very talented, but he was like this. Did all of the dirty work. These aren't guys that you expect to put up 20 points a night, but they lay their guts on the floor and make things happen.
If the Pelicans had a player like this, they don't lose that huge lead to Golden State in Game 3. They also likely win a few more games that they lost late in games.
Seriously. Why isn't there more of a premium on players like this in the NBA who can come off of the bench and provide a spark. I remember the Pistons back in the day had Vinnie "Microwave" Johnson who would come in and be balls to the wall energy for short spurts. There have been others.
NFL rosters carry guys who are Special Teams aces to come in and do the dirty work. I know that NBA rosters are smaller, but some of the guys on the bench never see any playing time. Why isn't there more of a place for guys with average talent but huge hustle/desire who are willing to throw themselves around and make things happen?
The Pelicans would be better for it, in my opinion.

Would be a nice defensive piece in the back court, but he'd be no more than the 4th guard for us. When Monty was coach, Greivis Vasquez was very much that energetic overachieving player for us and it was great. I don't think we have that right now, but I doubt Dellavedova is going to be worth however much a team pays for him. Those guys are best found on your own before you have to pay them.

quote:seriously? little to none. He has two good games in the finals and people are flipping their shite over him. He is what he is: a hard nosed hustling 7th or 8th man. Nothing more nothing less. He will fade back into irrelevancy when it's all said and done.

Drink spills and injuries to fans would go up.

I guess everyone is on the Dellavedova bandwagon

Norris Cole is a better version of Dellavadova

He's terrible. The Cavs are absolute garbage. He's just teammates with Lebron. So was Norris Cole.

Cole is that player but better

Kind of like the impact we thought we'd get when we overpaid for James Posey.
Pay the "exposure" tax for marginal players who get a ton of national spotlight on good teams is often a good way to set your franchise back.
