Well, at the very least, I expect ULL to break into the top ten in attendance. They're at 11 now.

Unfortunately, these figures show that college baseball has a long way to go to be considered by the national media as a major sport, at least outside of the SEC. I was really surprised by Alabama's attendance. I figured they'd be at least in the top 10.

It was noted in the SECR that while the Tide are 25 in total attendance, they are only ninth in the SEC.

Remember that they are renovating and expanding their stadium as we speak.

what does SLU's stadium hold? hopefully they can grow their fanbase enough to get on this list...

as well as Tulane rising after a successful year...

LSU doing well is great, but the other state schools being nationally competitive will be what makes us the best college baseball state

Know what I find interesting? Compare the 2015 baseball attendance figures...

...with the 2014 men's basketball attendance figures...

And once again, only Syracuse had a higher total attendance for men's basketball than LSU had for baseball.

2,500, and can accommodate up to 3,000.

We all know The Box will get expanded one day. It's coming. It's just a question of when, not if.

And I believe that LSU will be the first NCAA baseball team to break 500,000 total attendance in a year. We are already the first, and so far, only school to break 400,000 attendance in a single year.

Well that's not really all that surprising considering SU had only 18 home games compared to LSU's (baseball) 39. Using the numbers below, 34 basketball teams would have had larger attendance numbers than the top baseball program had they played an equal amount of games.

Syracuse's Carrier Dome also has nearly three time the capacity of The Box. And most basketball arenas are larger than baseball stadiums.

If you are going compare amount of games, you also have to compare capacity.

So LSU played more home games in a smaller stadium. It's still an impressive feat...heck it's unequaled anywhere else. And it may never be.

The only real threat to break the current attendance record is us.

Looks like the only 3 schools that have higher average baseball attendance than basketball are LSU, Ole Miss and Miss St.

Do we need to get our priorities straight? Hopefully Ben Simmons will help with this.

LSUs averaged 2,509 more fans per game than Arkansas. So basically the fans that make up the gap between first and second place in Alex Box would be greater than the average attendance for all but 26 NCAA schools.

LSU could get to 500,000 total attendance without adding a seat.

LSU had 421,171 total attendance in 2015. Let's say in 2016, LSU scheduled five more home games than they did in 2015.

The Tigers then hosted a regional, went through the loser's bracket and won. Then hosted a super regional, and got extended to three games.

That's just about 500,000 total attendance, or very close.
