Have you ever just deactivated your social media account?

A few people I have spoke with recently said it was one of the best decisions they have ever made.
FB nowadays is just depressing and I tend to agree.

A. I lock everything down anyways. You can't see shite besides my profile photo. Nor do I look at it ever. I just have it for my 2,000 photos and snoop on other people. I can't remember the last time I read my facebook "wall" or stream.
B. If I'm interviewing for a job, I temporarily still inactivate my facebook and then reactivate it when the process is over. Just in case.

You won't regret getting off Facebook.

I deactivated Facebook 3 years ago and I haven't looked back since. There was way too much shite on there then so I can only imagine how bad it is now. TD is the only form of social media in which I'm currently participating and will probably be the last.

I haven't had Facebook in 4 or 5 years. I never got on it, therefore I just deactivated it completely. I never started Twitter, Instagram, Vine, etc. accounts as well. Social media just isn't my interest. I'm also the guy who routinely goes out and leaves my cell phone at home on purpose.

Got rid of my FB 3 years ago. Best decision I've ever made I think. Once my mom and aunts got on I realized it's time for me to check out.

Just don't be that person that makes this overly dramatic fb post about why they are deleting their fb account.
Then re activate it like 2 weeks later.

Deleted facebook years ago...I've missed out on some bday parties and baby showers of people who are facebook dependent but have never regretted dropping it. I wasted too much time when I was on it.
Agree with poster who said to not give a "farewell post"...those are just

The people that have will be sure to tell you about it and how great it has made their everyday life.

I only use Facebook now for two groups. Western pa sxs riders and an arctic cat page. Really only use it for offroad events and fixing my lil donkey

Deactivated FB over a year ago. It's been great.

I deactivated my FB over a year ago. I don't miss the drama one bit at all.

My favorite is someone asks me last minute if I going to something that invited me to on Facebook or wonder why I missed the event.
Who the F assumes you or anyone else uses it as a social planner/calendar?

It may have been addressed in the thread already, but how bad were they obsessed with it or what was so bad an Facebook that deactivating was the best decision they ever made?
This is a question for anyone who's deactivated really, what makes it such a good decision?
