Wendy's

It's better than canned, probably cheaper, will last in the fridge for up to a week and you can freeze in the container it comes in if necessary. No reason to ever buy canned chili for me.

Wendy's actually makes a damn good meal for like $5 with chili and a baked potato

And yea the chili isn't bad

Years back, Campbells red and white soup can soup had a Chili Beef soup. The broth in the product was excellent. I'd add a full can of water, heat it up and drink it from a coffee mug. Like most everything I like, they took it off the market.

Hormel's for me on my hot dog. Hormel's with beans if I'm doing frito chili pie.

Chef Mate was the brand Krystal used for years. At 3 in the morning when I would get off work at the Jackson Daily News (during my newspaper high school sports correspondent days) it was pretty good to dip a Krystal in, while seated at the counter of the Krystal on the far east end of Capitol Street in Jackson.

That Krystal location, along with my tolerance for sliders dipped in chili at 3 in the morning are sadly long gone.

Wendy's chilli is disgusting. It's made from old unused burgers that sit in a drawer at room temp all day. I know a few people that have worked there. Would not touch with a ten foot pole.

I used to be able to eat canned chili, now they are all terrible. Canned chili didn't change, I did. A couple of times a year I make a huge batch in a gumbo pot and freeze in portions. Thaw, heat and top with a little pico, bueno.

I do the same thing with gumbo base then add seafood when I get the craving.

Hormel. Can't be beat on chili dogs.

This.

And a good way to use it:

Larger can Hormel "hot"
Can of rotel, have liquid drianed
Can of Campbell's Fiesta nacho cheese soup
Microwave for ~5 minutes, stir half way.

"The dip"

eta: I usually eat with Tostitos scoops, but lately I've really been moving over to the On The Border "Cantina Thins".
