Sitting in random seats at sporting events

How do you react when someone is sitting in your seat?
I'd imagine the typical, mature response is to say, "hey, bud...I think you may be in my seat...." Followed by, "my bad.", as the guy gets up and either goes to his seat or finds another empty, better seat.
This is esp common at Astros games where the park is usually half full at best anyways.
So, at the game last night I literally watched a guy in front of me walk in around the 5th inning and completely berate a guy for being in his seat. Literally throwing out fighting words! Out of line??? It was right above the left field wall by the St Arnold's bar. Thought it was a little much.

This is normal. No big deal.

Douche move. In empty stadiums I have even sat in other seats next to mine if someone is in mine. Who cares?

If the park is empty and someone is sitting in my seat I bust a nut.
If the park is full and someone is in my seat I shrug and try to find a seat somewhere else.

Went to a concert a while back and a older gentleman was in my seat. When I showed him my ticket me explained that he had second row seats and it was too close for him and offered to trade. CSB.

This. Especially if it's in the 5th inning. If someone claims the alternate seats, then ask the people sitting in yours to move.

I usually give the "I think you may be in my seat approach".. Usually not a big deal.
Although, at the LSU v Ole Miss game this past year we sat in that small bleacher section in the corner of the end zone and a guy got passed the ticket lady and crammed himself into a seat. He was very drunk and obnoxious and was yelling at Ole Miss fans the whole time so everyone got on him and told him to leave.

This happens to me every single time in Tiger Stadium. I usually get to my seats about 10 minutes before kickoff. It goes like this every single time-
Me- excuse me, you're in my seats
Them- no I'm not.
Me- Yes... You are.
Them- Well, someone is in my seats.
Me- I don't care. Move.
Every time. Without exception.

Was coming to post this. Couple of years ago two guys were in my seats and would not listen to me that they were in the wrong spot. Dude, you are sitting next to my dad - that is one hell of a coincidence. Finally had to get the marshal.

Not a big deal. Just show them your tickets and say they're in the wrong seats. If the stadium isn't full and there are seats everywhere, just sit somewhere else. I always think it's ridiculous when you ask someone to move and there are a ton of open seats around you.
Berating someone over it? They'd get a nice beer accidentally spilled on them

A couple of years ago I was down in BR for a game and figured I'd pick up a ticket outside. I finally find some young 20 something guy who is wobbling drunk and give him $20 for his ticket. I walk in the stadium, sit down and the family starts giving me the "you're in the wrong seat" routine. I show them my ticket and they get this look of serious disappointment because they know what their son did.
I sat between the mom and dad for the first half, but switched seats with the wife at halftime so she and her husband could sit together.

You say between them for a whole half? Hahahha!

Seriously, it's no big deal. I think it's sleazy if it's really in the game. But after the first half, if no-one is there, it's open game.

It gets to me at pirate games. People sit anywhere. I picked out seats I really want I'm gonna sit in them if the stadium is full. The other night was a domino effect after I got some guidos out my seats. 12 different groups had to move.
Just sit in your own seat if it's full

Happens to me at Marlins games all the time. Never once had an issue with it myself, but I've witnessed my fellow season ticket holders get into it with some people. One couple next to me actually called an usher on a teenager and his dad for sitting in the section. That one got a little ugly.
Don't get me wrong, I do pay good $ for my seats but I'm not going to embarrass someone in front of their kid if they're respectful and aren't acting like a jackass.

I'd usually say after the first quarter of any event (end of 2nd or 3rd inning), then it becomes open game. However, even if someone comes in in the 9th inning or 4th quarter and politely tells me I'm in their seat and shows me the ticket I'll move.
