That's different from playing really well. The Cajuns played okay against teams who couldn't hit and made terrible errors. Did they deserve to win the regional? No doubt. Was it terribly impressive? No, sorry.

if we hit like we did against uncw we won't win

If LSU pitches like they did against uncw, ULL won't come close to scoring a run

So if we hit like we did we wont win despite doing just that against a better team?
Nice logic.

We had 18 hits in two games vs them... it was just timely hits we had a problem with. I think we were 0.279 for the regional. Below our standards, but hardly terrible.

if we don't score any runs I don't think we can win, that's just my take!

Fortunate to slip by Houston after being no-hit?
Uh, yeah.
You scored and an error in the 9th...and then won it on a HBP.
That's pretty much the definition of lucky.

You still need to play the game, but on paper, this is as easy as it gets.

the uncw pitchers weren't the best we've faced this season, but we made them look that way. Even made the starter for Lehigh look good. we definitely need to do a better job at the plate to get past USL. I doubt (although anything is possible) that we hold them under a couple of runs.

Sorry, late to the thread because i've been practicing baseball all afternoon in hopes it helps the Tigers in some way. Don't worry...I'm not taking this series lightly. I worked on turning double plays and took some soft toss. I'll take some real BP tomorrow and Friday and also work on getting good jumps when stealing as well as fielding ground balls the other days this week. When I'm not practicing I'll be cowering in a corner some where with my thoughts dwelling on ULL's superior Sun Belt pitching and hitting. I only hope I do it well enough to ensure a Tiger victory!

.310 by my count, but yeah, the approach at the plate was a little too aggressive I think. But this is an aggressive team.

In reading the posts of a lot Tiger fans on this site and other sites, they all assume LSU will just walk and blow UL-Lafayette out in two games, While I think LSU will win, I also believe it will be a close and competitive series. The Cajuns are playing their best baseball of the year, and are a very dangerous opponent. LSU will have to be at the top of their game to come away with this series. It is possible this series could go 3 games. This is a young and confident, well-coached opponent coming to Alex Box Stadium this weekend. LSU is also confident and well-coached, which makes for an exciting series. LSU would have been better served facing Houston or Rice. Don't get too overconfident.
I don't know who is goofier... you or that Jenner dude.

After watching a lot of regional baseball this weekend, I think it's pretty obvious LSU is the best college baseball has to offer this season and #7 is theirs to lose...not saying it will be easy. There are a lot of good teams and baseball can get weird. But I can't remember a more balanced LSU team than this. They are very solid in every aspect of the game.
The biggest concern coming into regional play was pitching except for Lange. After seeing Poche dominate into the 9th, and even Bugg's limited outing, it appears Dunn has got his arms dialed in...bad news for everyone else. Sit back and enjoy.

It's hilarious how people can just discredit what a team has done when they didn't even watch the games.
It wasn't like your games weren't televised. We watched the games and yes, you were fortunate to win that regional.

It both teams play their absolute best, we sweep them.
Posted on 6/2/15 at 7:07 pm to Chaseff
no super regional will ever be easy. But there re much worse matches we could have outside of ULL, and we should beat them.
Posted on 6/2/15 at 7:08 pm to PeaRidgeWatash
ULL would have to play their best baseball and hope LSU would help them some. They may get one win vs us but I doubt they can beat us twice in the box.
