If I was fishing Hopedale right now I would turn my boat into the sound and hit Freemason Island for trout. It has been on fire this week. Limits by 10 AM.

Where are some places the wife and I can go casting for reds, leaving from BSM? I have an 18' Xpress. I'll post pics of MarshMan's wife in exchange for sound advice

Good advice will be very rewarding.

Hahaha! I just saw this post! MarshMan's ole lady can fish, and I can guarantee she has a bigger deer on the wall than 98% of this board!

How far of a boat ride is that to Freemason? Guess coming from BSM would be the best way?

If yall are dead set on trout, just make the drive to coco. It'll be worth your time. Trout fishing has been spotty on the east side. You can catch em but it hasn't been every other cast

Hopefully it picks up. I have a charter out of shell beach next Friday.

Heading down to Dularge Friday. Any reports from there?

According the guides on my Facebook feed, and most people who comment on any fishing related post, apparently the only thing the trout want right now is matrix shad and have lockjaw for anything else

but really, sparkle beetles have been catching them too.

I can't see them being locked jaw towards live shrimp, but that's why I double rig with matrix shad up top!

they're never lockjaw for shrimp. I just find it comical with the nut riding for that bait. I use it, don't get me wrong, but people act like its the only thing to catch.

that being said, I fish colors and not brand bait.

Ended up going fish elmeres island on the far south end. Finished the day up with 50 trout and one red by 10am.
