ULL enrollment being 18235 and SELU is 13744?

ULL, ULM, McNeese, Nicholls State, NSU and Southeastern will never be equal to LSU, period. All the other schools get it but for some reason ULALA does not

So I say greet them the same way they would greet us if God forbid we had to go to Lafayette, like shite!

I'm an LSU grad that grew up in New Iberia. I can't stand all the "if they are not playing against LSU I will root for them" crowd. Pick a side and stand for it. I can assure you they pull against us no matter what.

That's kind of how everyone in Mississippi was last football season. Sure we put on a nice face saying "Oh this is so good for the state!" or "I don't want them to lose until we beat them!". But it was all bullshite. We all wanted the other team to lose by 50 every time they played against someone.

You should have stopped after your sixth post.

We are Tigers and show no mercy to our prey before the game. Now after the hunt we can drink with our victims and lick their wounds to heal them for their next mauling.

Yep it is how college sports fans just work. They have "their" team and all the others, meh! For me, I love LSU. All the others if they play someone else other than LSU sure I kinda sorta pull for them. Some more than others(cough), Tulane, ULL.

Exactly. The only way I would ever pull for State is if it benefited Ole Miss in some way.

I know a couple of USL Professor's and one Assistant Prof' who get really, really pissed, to the point of NOT speaking to me for a long while. To make this happen, all that is required is to call their university OOh, La La.......so, with them coming to the game...I guess it's time to start that motor.....again!

I witnessed first hand how shitty USL sports fans are. They had NO interest in supporting their teams then.

They just weren't very successful.

Want to know how easy it was for me to watch conference games at the Box in the early 80s? Does that mean that LSU fans are still shitty?

Being equal to LSU and attempting to grow as a university are two different things.

God forbid another school in the state not named LSU tries to grow and strives to become a better institution.

And? This is such a fricking idiotic term, especially when it comes to college sports in the south. How many children do you see at LSU sporting events? They just really small students?

Or is it your suggestion they drop their lifelong affiliation with the university merely because they choose another path at 18?

Am I less an LSU fan than some kid from Thailand who once walked past Tiger Stadium during his 4 years on campus as a student?

And I'd be happy to say that as a non alumnus yet athletic booster actual alumni ought to be given preferential treatment in terms of Tradition Fund points, etc. I have ZERO problem with something like that. But the minute you start suggesting I have no place in Tiger Stadium or as a fan is the day you begin suggesting a large portion of season ticket holders are shown the door...because if you're under the impression non alumni do not make up a sizable portion of season ticket holders you're smoking crack.

True...but they WERE fun. No one fricking came to see Brian Mitchell play QB for them. Dude was incredibly exciting...no one gave a shite unless they were playing big name, then the La Fonda crowd showed up to say "I was there." USL basketball then was REALLY fun, and they played a really up tempo exciting style of play. No one gave less of a frick. Honestly, it was fricking sad.

the difference between you, and nearly all current self identifying USL fans is that you were actually THERE watching games that were not great. Them...? Some where else.

LSU fans are shitty for PLENTY of other reasons...we don't need to own this one also.

It became clear over the years that most of the vitriol from then USL fans was about disparity in funding

I had a very unprofessional professional tell me that he HATED "that team" WITH A PASSION referring to LSU when I wore LSU shorts to an appointment with him. He then admitted that it "wasn't fair the way the funding went". I told him to be pissed at Huey Long not ME who was PAYING HIM for a professional service.

I still think he was just pissed that LSU didn't recruit him but ULL did.

That said, I'll always root for a Louisiana team unless they're playing LSU!!!

I know it might be difficult for a person such as yourself to grasp, but:

Southeastern: 14K
UL: 18k

Is there some 'kern dawg' mathematics that that would make southeastern larger than us that rest of he word is not aware of? ??

Here's a challenge for you: next lsu home game, show up in 'Bama gear. If you live through it, report back. Heck fire, just wear the opponents gear and report back.

When I went home a few years ago I asked a buddy how USL was doing in baseball, he seriously looked at me and said "It's UL get it right." I laughed in is face about defending their name. Their nickname is the Ragin' friggin' Cajuns. You serious?

I was dumbfounded that it was some big deal. It was USL when I went there and it will always be to me. When I went there I was still a much bigger fan of LSU. It's not like I'm in Cali and this is USC/UCLA.

Lookit if they beat LSU and go on to the CWS I'll cheer my heart out for them. But for Cajun fans to be any sort of hateful or not cheer for LSU just baffles my mind.
