I always found it funny that the biggest win in their program history came against a team that went 6-6.

I wont show love to the fanbase as a whole. I have friends who went to ULL that I will individually show love to, but a large portion of their fan base hates us, so I dont like that portion.

ULM has the 9th best nursing school in America and their pharmacy school is among the best as well, so it should not be closed. If anything the resources should go to LSU!
This be the problem right here...stop trying to tell others what to do. LSU is the big fish, ok.

Since Southeastern has the second largest enrollment in the state I'm sure they could ask why not shut ULL down??

Why should I ever pull for a team that hates me? I would love to ignore their fans but they constantly needle me every chance they get. I even pull against their hot blonde fake glasses softball pitcher. Hate me and I'm gonna hate you right back.

My policy in life is to give people the benefit of the doubt and treat them with respect until they give me a reason not to.

That being said...

If I wasn`t a hate target at the first New orleans Bowl, because I happened to have a LSU sweatshirt on, then I may feel the way some of y`all do. However, I was and it was by many not just a few. I thought they were joking around like we usually give our opponnets hell. They weren`t.

Fast forward to the regional game against Houston when the cajuns made their comeback and won on the bases loaded hit batter. The batter showed no class, throwing his bat and helmet in the air like an idiot. The bat could`ve hurt someone really bad, and it is an embarassment to the people in our state to act like that. They are a scrappy team,I will give them that all day, but act like you have some self worth and respect for your school and your opponnent no matter who it is.

I think there will be an incident in at least one game this weekend and I hate that I can`t root for a local team even when they are not playing LSU.

That's pretty much how Robichaux rolls. It was 10x worse when he had Fatass Simoneaux on his staff egging their kids on.

It became clear over the years that most of the vitriol from then USL fans was about disparity in funding, LSU's influence at the legislature not letting them change their name, and just plain envy.

agree with this wholeheartedly. of course, ULL spends some of their state funding on athletics whereas LSU does not. THE BIG PROBLEM is that La simple doesn't spend enough on higher education so the ULL fans should turn their vitriol to the state legislature. also, the current law is set up that budget cuts can only occur in a few areas, education being one of them. there are way too many sacred cows in the La budget. Louisiana's problem is a spending problem, not an income problem.

imo, there are two types of ULL fans...
-the great ones that are above the fray
-the absolute jackasses that loathe LSU and
blame LSU for all of ULL's shortcomings.

there is no escaping group two BUT we should not assume that all ULL fans are in that group.

Amen, brotha

If there is really any "anger or resentment" I have, it's this. LSU was a huge beneficiary of the state legislature since it's the flagship school. But the smaller schools suffered at the hands of that for years. But I blame that on the state legislature. Now, things are a little more fair with the schools being in separate systems. But that old style of Louisiana politics put us in the mess we are in today with all of the protected departments and budget cuts. And all schools, including LSU, are suffering from it.

I earned a degree from USL and a post-grad degree from ULL. I was never a die hard Cajun athletics fan as a student. I played on the Cajun club inline hockey team and traveled with them to Texas and attended basketball, football, and baseball games. However, I always wore P&G to class and took a lot of shite for it, but I still hold no ill will. I pull for the cajuns and the tigers, but deep down inside I am, and always will be an LSU Fighting Tiger. Just born to it. Dad and brother, although we lived in Louisiana and my dad played football at Auburn for Shug Jordan, somehow are Bammers, but my mom and sister earned degrees from LSU. Most of my friends and my wife's family are LSU grads though. I dont understand the animosity LSU or ULL hold for each other. I just dont get it. Fans on here get super pissed at the name thing and act all superior to ULL. If I ever return to school it will be at LSU, but I wont ever hate ULL even if they call themselves Louisiana. Both are good schools filled with good people.

Rajin Cajin's are the only non-number 1 seed on their side of the bracket and since America loves an underdog Laffy is America's team.

I grew up in Lafayette, love the city still, and was a huge USL basketball fan when Shipley was dominating state basketball. But as I grew older, being an LSU fan since the age of 5 because of my father's love for LSU football, I was eventually forced to choose, by my USL friends & professional peers. The hate for LSU was that strong. So, now I am an LSU fan only. And will add this: I will pull as hard for USL , sports wise, as their fans pull for LSU. It's no coincidence that Lafayette is full of Alabama fans now.

That may sound a tad hyperbolic to those not in the Lafayette area, but it really isn't...at least among certain groups.

You remember the idiotic PR campaign about supporting USL athletics because ""It's Good for Business?" I'm sure it is. You know what's fricking BETTER for business? Supporting LSU, since there's NO DOUBT more LSU season ticket holders in the Acadiana Area than total asses in seats on any given Saturday at Cajun Field. That's not even talking about the metric shite-ton of basic LSU fans who support the Tigers who don;t often go to games.

But no...you can't openly support LSU here without hearing at least some fricking chirping from some militant asshat...
