Do WW even know how to fight? These guys get wrecked when the opposer has a weapon that can kill them

Selmy was way past his prime when he went.

Pretty sure Jamie's sidekick would mop up Jon... Can't remember his name for the life of me though. Even though I love his character... The one the girl with amazing tits gave the poison antidote to last episode hehehe

My guess is they have some decent level of skill but are careless because they didn't realize until last night that their enemies have possession of weapons that can hurt them. For me, that WW's look when Jon's sword didn't shatter said it all.

I agree with this 100% BUT I have to say I am therefore dissapointed that Snow single-handedly killed a WW, when WWs are supposed to be pretty amazing with a sword. Snow essentially lost to a guy with a couple of daggers at Craster's Keep. He's a good swordsman but not the best.

And fricking Selmy dies at the hands of some nobodys in an alley??

Sam killed a white walker

I wouldn't make that your benchmark for a great fighter

Well yeah but he completely surprised the WW. In an actual swordfight, aren't they supposed to be pretty amazing?

Also, I think it would make more sense if they were subject to normal physical damage from valyrian steel/dragon glass rather than just evaporating at first touch. Seems like they'd be pretty fragile in a real pitched battle at this point. Why not just make a bunch of dragonglass arrowheads and vaporize all the WWs in a single volley? They don't even have helmets. I know I'm just dreaming at this point tho.

Very few actually believe Whitewalkers or Wights exist minus those that just hightailed it off that beach. Everyone assumes at this point they are just bedtime stories to frighten children. Of course they wouldn't know how to kill a bedtime story hehe

The wildlings know all about them, it's why they were willing to band together under Mance's leadership. Below the Wall though, VERY FEW outside of the Night's Watch either knows or believes (although ravens were sent out around Season 3, I think). Stannis and his woman with the demon poon are about the only ones from the southern kingdoms that believed it enough to check it out.
