What's sad is I think Garfield is a pretty decent Peter Parker.

It could have been worse. That cut a scene at the end where Peter's Dad shows up at Gwen's grave to give Peter life advice.

As long as you don't start wondering where the rest of the Avengers are as Hydra-Shield is about to murder half the East Coast.
Actually, that's the problem with all of the post-Avengers Marvel movies other than GOTG.
Thor was dealing with his own shite in Asgard
Iron Man was dealing with his computer going crazy and creating a bunch of different suits that were trying to kill him
You see at the end of Iron Man 3 that Banner has been laying low, and staying at "peace" so that he doesn't just randomly turn into the Hulk (we see this fear still exist even in the Avengers 2) - and he is a long way away from New York at this point, and still a human until transformed... so good luck getting to NYC in time.
and lastly - Shield was blind sided, they are the Avengers initiative, they are THE reason it exist, and they were dismantled in 3 seconds, and with no Shield, who is going to call the Avengers protocol?!?!?!?!?!?!
This argument of "where are the Avengers in x, y, or z conflict after the Avengers" is ridiculous - they are all individuals with all individual problems they still have to face at the end of the day, they can't sit around waiting for shite to fall down, and they can't run to the rescue of everyone every single time something bad happens.

I love the QUALIFIED CRITICS that hate on Spiderman, yet laude the praises of "The Dark Knight". However, OPINIONS are like assholes...

Well the average moviegoer is a retard
I started to write an "I disagree" post about how the problem is probably that you can't shut off your mind to stop over-analyzing movies, but when I got to the part about "sometimes people want the intensity of a Breaking Bad and sometimes they want 'Ow! My Balls!'" I began to realize how much of our TV and movies are "Ow! My Balls!". Now I am sad.

Spidey donning the Fireman helmet while using the hose to douse Electro is Spiderman. (Not that the scene was good, but you get my point)

You could argue that the reason Stark did what he did in Ultron was partially a direct result of the events of the Battle of NY and Winter Soldier.

And seriously, of all the things that require suspension of disbelief in a series about a genius with a flying suit of armor, a 90 year old superhuman, a norse god, and a green ragemonster, this is BY FAR the easiest thing to deal with.

Was it a Screen Junkies Honest Trailer that dubbed Electro "Autotune Ray Charles?"

The ending of ASM2 is hilarious. It goes through this montage of Parker mourning her through the passing seasons and all it takes is him watching Stacy's speech on his computer to put the suit back on. "Well, okay!"
