He has to be the most overhyped player I've ever seen. I don't know why teams keep giving him shots. It's really not fair to lesser known guys. He had one good college year. He has been pro for 3 seasons and couldn't make a team (cut/traded by 3 different NBA teams). He can't even play a full D-league schedule and when he did play, it wasn't that impressive. He didn't play at all this past season. That is just mind blowing to me. He could have played overseas or something. But he just took a year off. Now he wants another shot? I just wouldn't touch him, if I was a team..

Sure lets give him a run...

His anxiety and other things caused him to get cut/traded.
Maybe this past year or so he's gotten better and ready to get himself a another chance.
His talent was never a question

If brmark doesn't like him, you know we should sign him.

This probably isn't about White, it's about Hoiberg, or perhaps pressuring the Bulls on Thibs via Hoiberg.

I know that two teams that would love to have Hoiberg (us and the Bulls) are going after White, but I can't imagine that signing him would make much of a difference in his choice.

I doubt it's at the request of Hoiberg, if one of his conditions was hooking up White there's no need to even reach out, you just say Sure Mr. Mayor. This is posturing, the question is who is it aimed at?
Hoiberg? Bulls reach out to White so we reach out or vice versa?
Bulls? They won't release Thibs so we make them think we're going after their top candidate? The timing did coincide with the Bulls saying they'll back down on Thibs.
JVG? No doubt he wants the job, maybe Demps doesn't want to give up power and this is to make him think less power with AD is better than more power with Mark Jackson. If he wasn't a regular on sports talk shows I'd say the DP interview was posturing for the job meaning it's not a sure thing like much of the board is hoping.

I was enamored with Royce White's game in college. He has an incredibly unique skill set for his size. Not comparable to too many NBA players, but Boris Diaw is a decent comparison although White is more athletic.
White could come in with your second unit and run the point from the 3/4 spot. He has great vision, doesn't need to take a ton of shots, doesn't mind setting screens and doing the dirty work, and is an excellent rebounder.
I thought the 2 biggest sleepers (guys picked outside top 10) in the 2012 draft would be Terrance Jones and Royce White (if he could get his head on straight.) I really wish he would because he would be fun to watch in the league.

filling the roster with second or third tier role players is not the answer to any short/long term Pelican issues. They need a solid point guard and center so my man AD can play his natural 4 spot.

Point guard?
Name a contender that doesn't have an exceptional point guard leading the way...just saying.

Mario Chalmers and an old arse jason kidd are two dudes who have recently won championships as starting PGs. Jrue is definitely better than both of them (where they were in their careers when they won).

name a championship team that had a pg lead the way in the last 25 years.
1991 isiah Thomas
name a championship team who had a pg be the clear #2 guy in the last 25 years.
Tony Parker on two of their championships, who is more of a scorer than true pg,like isiah was.
Billups, who also was a scorer, not a true pf.
you know what every championship team has in common, two dominant players between the sg/sf/pf position.
PG and C position are role players on championship teams more often than not.
And today's exceptional PG turns into more of a SG in the playoffs. Rondo is the only guy on a championship team that played like a pg in the championship lately.
AD needs a 2 or a 3 that can hold his own and carry the team. We aren't winning a championship unless we get someone at that position that can be AD's true running mate.

Last I checked we had a pretty solid PG.
