any relation to Joey?
Yes, it's his twin brother!

Joey would climb into the stands & kick your arse. Albert only kicked arse when you were in the base path.

Since some here don't even know of Joe Adcock, here is a fact for you:
Holding a record like that for 48 years is pretty cool.

On July 31, 1954, Adcock accomplished the rare feat of homering four times in a single game, against the Brooklyn Dodgers at Ebbets Field. He also hit a double off the top of the wall to set a record for most total bases in a game (18)[1][2] that stood for 48 years, until broken by Shawn Green in 2002.[3]

Albert Belle hands down. I think he led the majors in a 10 year span for rbi

I've been waiting for this answer. He played forever. Was never a big name, but obviously was a valuable player.

It's a travesty that the baseball writers are such a bitter bunch and he won't ever be in the hall of fame.

Albert Belle & Joey Belle are the same person, the twin's name was Terry, he died in an automobile accident a year or 2 ago.

Though not nearly as successful statistically as others mentioned in this thread, Jeff Reboulet and Keith Osik lasted in the pro's for a very long time.

I had never heard of Joe Adcock.
Had to chuckle. Just gave your age group away. I tell young guys all the time about Billy Joe, as his friends called him. Regretfully I wasn't an acquaintance, however a young man that I worked with many years ago was a relation of his. That's how I found out, that Joe became an avid Thoroughbred race horse owner and trainer once his playing days were done. He died a gentlemen farmer, loved by all who knew him. Though a rather long and lanky fellow in his hey-day, he could clobber the horse-hide off of a baseball.
