Good thing you were right and it prevented us from winning.

Why don't you worry about your day job and let the coaches worry about the pitching.!

The defense is really what ghave up most of those runs yesterday. We really had at least 4 errors which lead to at least 5 unearned runs.

The bright side of Poche's start was that at least he got ahead of hitters rather than falling behind. Also, Chinea and Poche making the play at first would likely have lessened the damage. ESPN's scouting report on Poche was spot-on regarding Poche needing to execute his 2-strike pitches. Going forward if Poche can improve in that area and the defense makes the easy play I think Poche will be fine.

He wasn't getting the low fastball called a strike. He wasn't missing pitches by much until he realized he couldn't get the low fastball called a strike. Then we had a few brain farts in the field. He was hit hard a couple times, but there was certainly a fine line between a 5 run inning and a 0 run inning.

I think it will be beneficial that this 5 run first inning happened in post season play going forward.

I didn't think Poche pitched that badly. There were several instances when he had an 0-2 count on a batter then threw a pitch close enough to the strike zone to get a call and every time the ump called ball. When he elevated the pitch, it was crushed. Then the errors!!!

See, this is the type of ignorant stuff that pisses me off as a diehard LSU baseball fan.

Ok, so let's see, we won the game after coming from behind because our pitcher gave up 5 runs in the first.

I guess that must mean our pitching staff sucks as a whole. I recall them only giving up 3 more runs the rest of the way and LSU scoring 9

A win is a win and when you do it enough, weaknesses become null and void.

It’s the antithesis of what you want out of your No. 1 hurler. He’s supposed to conserve your relievers, not require them to come streaming to the disaster area like the Red Cross.

Poche might pitch in the first game, but--I can't stress this enough--he is NOT the best pitcher on the team. Rabalais knows it. I know it. The coaches know it.

Poche had a bad night. That's baseball.

But rather than self-immolating as a sacrifice to the baseball gods over one poor performance by a starter, why aren't you (and Scott) happy about seven lights out innings of relief?

The bullpen--ya know, the thing so many folks were worried about all year--looked great.

Take a deep breath and enjoy post-season baseball, buzzkill.

We won. We continue to win.

How many series have we lost all season?? One.. To Kentucky.. Where so much stuff went against our way..

The bullpen was outstanding to pickup Poche with an off start.
