Designs and plans for the restaurant are still being developed, but Steven Fontenot, district manager, said the goal is to have Superior Grill open “in a year.”

The restaurant will take up a building in the Kenilworth Shopping Center that had been occupied by Arzi’s and Monjunis.

Thought they periodically had them on that long stretch of Kenilworth by Olympia Stadium

A mediocre restaurant that wants to open another in Baton Rouge.

I think....... that's what he meant.

Does this city really need another Superior Grill...?

More mediocre tex-mex in town notorious for mediocre tex-mex.

I've heard they have a hell of a burger. True or false?

There's seriously nothing that close to home, so I am happy about this for drinking.

That is so close I could walk if I truly had the desire.

Hmmm... Not comparing apples to apples, but Monjunis made the mistake of locating there and failed. I always thought their failure was due to an overlapping market area. Meaning they were splitting the same customers between the two restaurants. Just like Monjunis, most of SG customers are coming from south of Florida Blvd. and north of highland rd.

Looks like SG is being suckered in by Sammy's.

So what are you complaining about here...Baton Rouge or Superior?

This would be less ironic if Superior Grill didn't have a location in New Orleans. In a fairly decent location on St. Charles no less.

From the way the article is written. It sounds like SG is taking over both restaurants in that area.

I think Monjunis failed because it wasn't very good. Superior is a better than average texmex place and should do enough bar business to succeed.

I've only been to the SG on 280 in Birmingham. The brisket quesadillas were very tasty.

The social scene at happy hour is a little scary. It's like a middle aged person meat market.

(And I'm pretty much middle aged myself.)

Rum House is killing it in that area.

Im sure this was a huge factor in the location they chose.

You are being pretty generous with this statement.
