Picked up a piece of drift wood, and although it stood on its own I wanted it to be at a different angle. I drilled some holes in the bottom of it and stood it up on 1/4 inch brass legs. It was pretty tough to get the angles of the legs and the positioning in the wood to line up with the natural lines, so I stared with thick coat hanger wire to figure it all out. It came out fairly well, and outside of putting it into a jig it would be tough to get perfect. Thoughts?

Love drift wood, but not crazy about the legs. Would have left it like it was.

I was going to go with one stalk holding it up drilled into a wide painted base, but I wanted to try this once. I'm not crazy about them either. It was a random project just to have fun, and I was walking around Lowes brainstorming...brass legs!

For kicks, put it on craigslist for $150 and see if someone buys it.

I picked it up on a family trip, so instead of our usual rock I have this to remind me of it.

I'll do art one day, but not with drift wood.

seems like the wood has a couple places you can maybe create a flat space on wood to make like a coaster to put a beer down on.

I have some similar pieces that I'm holding to mount a trout.

I never thought about putting legs on it because, well, that's just weird.

Same. Great looking piece, but I would just hang a hook or some picture frame wire on the back side and attach it to a wall.

You made a stand for a chuck of wood that looks like a dick?
C'mon man.
