Les is the goat, point blank period. He has spoiled us like rich kids. I remember a 8-5 record around here was considered success now this is considered a disappointment. Common sense to me

will it be unanimous that he's the greatest football coach in LSU history?

No. Saban is the greatest coach in LSU history, because he is a better coach, period. Miles would have compiled the most stats, so I guess he would be the most decorated coach in LSU history.

Outback sells a shite ton more steaks than Ruth's Chris, but that doesn't make their steak greater in taste.

Thats not how it works. At LSU Miles has been the better and more successful coach. I think youre forgetting how many games saban lost. Saban's 2nd best season(2001 5-3 in sec),win/loss wise, is the type of season Miles gets bashed for having. Lsu just had our most successful 10 year stretch in the history of the program.
Miles has one of the best win % in sec history and the #1 ooc win % in sec history. Miles accomplished these great numbers during the most successful era of sec football, EVER. Early 2000s sec was far easier than the sec of 2005-present. Hell Saban won a SECwest title in 2001 with 3 sec losses.

this is not a good comparison since saban walked into a steaming pile of shite while miles walked into a gold mine.

I wish this bullshite myth would die. Saban walked into a program stacked with NFL talent.

Kendrick Allen
Ryan Clark
Howard Green
Rohan Davey
Trev Faulk
Jarvis Green
Bradie James
Devery Henderson
Chad Lavalais
Stephen Peterman
Josh Reed
Robert Royal
Brandon Winey
Were on the roster when Saban arrived. While Miles did walk into more talent, this notion that Saban walked into a dead program is just not true. Hell we had back to back 10 win seasons in 96&97.
Miles inherited a 3 loss team that had lost less than 3 games in a season, 3 times in over 50 years. Stop acting like Miles walked into a top 5 program.

Pretty simple. Saban is part of LSU history, and Saban is a greater coach than Miles, so Saban is the greatest coach in LSU history. Miles accumulated the most stats in LSU history, good for him and no one is trying to take that away from him except Alabama fans.

Saban was average at lsu.
4 losses (2000)
3 losses (2001)
5 losses (2002)
1 loss (2003)
3 losses (2004)
In no way is that the best coach in lsu history.
You dont rank a program's best coach ever by their career accomplishments. You rank them by what they did at the program.

Holy shite. Saban AT LSU is no where near as good as Saban AT BAMA.
What youre saying is lsu could hire a coach and that coach could go 0-42 in 3 years at lsu and get fired and then get another head coaching job and win a bunch of national titles at that school and subsequently he because LSU'S best coach ever. Thats retarded

Nick is a fine coach and I thank him for his effort while at LSU, but what did Nick do at LSU that Miles hasn't equaled or bettered???

To you and the other 3 or 4 Tiger fans who believe that, more power to you. Most think it's Miles already. Others still hold onto Cholly Mac or Dietzel which is fine too.

Again let's wait til Miles is done to hang this moniker on him. If he wins another NC here, there would be no disputing the OP's notion.

He already is our best coach. He has 7 of our 13 10 win seasons. It shouldn't even be a debate. If Miles coached in an sec where 3 conf losses wins you the west(2001), he would have 7 west titles.

1-loss national championship
NOT squandered the best talent in school history racking up meaningless 2nd place finishes
NOT had the program decline under him

bullshite. You are a sabanslobber. Little nicky used home cooking refs, a mulligan, and a blatantly illegal injury causing hit to Colt McCoy to pull out 3 titles at bama. So save this better coach bullshite for your fellow sabanslobbers. To everyone else you are pissing on our legs and telling us its raining.

FIFY and yes.

But, he will not be the greatest Coach that has ever coached at LSU (in addition to other places).

i disagree.

what a coach does at other schools doesn't matter. Miles will be (and probably already is) the greatest coach in LSU football history

in your mind that would mean that Bobby Bowden was the greatest coach in West Virginia history...even though he was there a short time and accomplished nothing
