It was even worse than that, IMO. The State, yes, the State of Kansas sued the sperm donor to recuperate funds used to support one of the child's parents.
Because they didn't follow the state laws and use a licensed physician to do the artificial insemination procedure. They did it at their own house. If they had follow Kansas state law, he wouldn't have had to pay anything. If you do this, know the laws in your state and you won't run into this problem.

I'd have to write out some kind of contract where I'd never be required to pay child support. There's all kinds of scenarios where they could hit you up for child support if you did this
Any such contract is null and void. According to every state law, you technically don't owe the mother -- you owe the child and the mother can't sign away her child's "right" to child support.
There was a Pennsylvania case a few years back where a judge ordered a sperm bank to open up its records -- the sperm bank had told its "donors" that their identities would be confidential ALWAYS -- so that any "mother" who wanted to could get the name of the donor to sue for child support.
So, NO, don't do it. Even at an anonymous sperm bank.

Would you father a child that you would have no connection with other than biologically?

I've heard of a sperm donor being held accountable for child support... so yeah.
Be sure to lawyer up big time first.

I'd have a vasectomy and bang out that lesbo poon for a while. By the time they realized what was going on, there'd be gallons of my sterile load inside of them.
