Looking for Stainless Steele, side by side, maybe 25cf with water/ice on door. Been looking at Sears so far but lots of choices. Anyone have a brand, model, store they would recommend? Looking to spend around $1,500.

get it from Sears. do not go to HHGregg. they bait and switch. Sears will provide a warranty that is honored through A&E, which is Sears.

You just described my Kenmore exactly. 25cft. water and ice in the door, water filter at the bottom of the freezer. Had it for 5 years, works like a charm. Sears delivered, set up and hauled my old one away.

We just bought a GE through sears just like you are describing. Stainless, french doors with water and ice, and bottom chest freezer.
I went up there trying to negotiate and they looked at me like I was from mars. My wife signed up for emails from them and started receiving $100 off this or $50 off a purchase over $200.
Basically, the old days of a handshake and "what can you do for me" are gone. Give them your email and mailing info and they flood you with offers and discounts.
Good luck.

Refrigerators are for suckers. You need to unplug. Get a big Yeti and free ice from hotels.

After applying coupons from Sears we knocked about 10% off the purchase price.

The ice maker and water dispenser crapped out in mine after the two year warranty expired.

just had a 13 month old fridge blow out (1 month out of warranty). The guy who came to fix it told me the motherboard just blew out and he could fix it for the cost of the part but it would likely do the same thing in less than a year.
He recommended buying a refurbished one from 2003-2006 before they had all the fancy add ons that cause problems

An old roommate had a fridge with one of these and I didn't care for it. Didn't hold that much and I was always digging around for stuff. Just my opinion.
