How is this even possible?

Depends. 95% of the time it's douchey and someone just looking for attention. When it's just a group of good buddies getting absolutely shitfaced around a fire or something and someone breaks it out and everyone all drunkenly sings along...it's cool.

Agreed, there have been times with some of my good friends where I will break it out after we have had a few in us, but I normally only play a song or two because it gets douchey pretty quick.

I absolutely hate when people play an instrument unsolicited. I don't care for music all that much, and live music is so loud and annoying. I honestly usually leave if someone starts playing an instrument, especially a guitar. I leave restaurants if someone shows up and starts playing music.

It depends on the song sometimes. If your at the fishing camp and someone starts singing Garth Brooks unanswered prayers its awkward as frick.

Also the guy who thinks he is a cross between Vince Gill and Neil Diamond.

Depends on how good you are.

Depends on situation and skill.

Drunk at the fishing camp + great country songs = perfect situation.

Random arse party = not perfect situation.

Never cool, ever. As a former performer, you never, ever do this shite. No one wants to hear you play, if they did, you'd be famous.

But yeah, the next time I hear someone play Santeria, I'm smashing a bottle over their GD head.

I keep a guitar in my truck pretty much all the time. If I'm at a friend's party but may not know the crowd there too well, I'll go grab it. People love it when I do my 3-song rotation of "Wish You were Here", "The General", and "Crash into Me". Usually it gets people to chillax and it's gotten me laid more times than I can count.

My brother does it and most seem to enjoy it. He also doesn't play it constantly and will change lyrics up on the fly to something stupid or to frick with someone else in the room. So that's entertaining.

We usually
Encourage the guy who will play. He's pretty good and plays good country (jerry Jeff, Willie, ect)

I love it personally, it helps break the ice with the ladies and gets them in the mood for kissing and stuff. I usually keep my trombone in the trunk of my Taurus just in case I can help out with some backups or a smooth bass line.

I have never been a big music person. When I find a song I like, which is rare, I'll put it on repeat for days. But I listen to podcasts on my phone when driving and enjoy complete silence at home.

Correct. I can't remember the last time I went to a bar or club or concert or restaurant playing live music.
