I like a band called Wolf and Cub that's pretty new. Deerhunter is okay.
It is definitely hard to find new, good rock and some people think rock is something that others think it's not. Nevertheless, the FM radio is not where you're going to find it.

Last.fm is where I find new music. A ton of unsigned bands.

Lacuna Coil's last album was very good. Not sure if it is your type of rock but I find them pretty awesome.

Stop. There has always been a ton of shitty music. You just don't hear it from the old days because we don't listen to old crappy music.
