CHC Thread | 11-7, 2nd in NL Central | PIT (Locke) vs. CHC (Wood)

Let's just forget, for a few seconds, how awesome Jorge Soler and Kris Bryant are how the Cubs are 2nd in the Central and playing meaningful games and see if we can unfog our minds enough to comprehend the awesomeness that is transpiring in Tennessee:
>
Vogelbach: .414/.521/.690/1.211 with 3 homers, 13 walks, 6 strikeouts
Schwarber: .370/.483/.652/1.135 with 3 homers, 11 walks, 13 K.
SCHWARBERBOMB
Dan Vogelbach is slugging higher than Almora's OPS (.677 despite a .297 BA).
Let's give Jason Hammel a pat on the back for shutting down the Pirates for 8 scoreless innings, only allowing 4 hits and striking out 7 hitters. Kris Bryant added a 2-R single. Two hits each for the top four hitters--Fowler, Soler, Rizzo and Bryant and the bottom of the lineup each had one hit except for Coghlan and Hammel. Fowler and Rizzo added a BB each.
The Cubs are just playing good baseball. I don't know how this feels...

Yea. Either need to deal him to an al team or after the cba next year hope the dh is in both leagues (if you want to see voglebach as a cub that is )

Also let's give props to the league leader in OBP...ladies and gentlemen:
Anthony Rizzo!

If he can get on base 3/5 times tonight he will get his OBP to .500. That's ridiculous.

would be a fun time to redo the Rizzo or Simmons debate we had a couple years ago on this board. Certainly both have done great. I expect it'd still just come down to fandom, but i'd like to think I'd take rizzo even if I wasn't a cubs fan.

Do you remember where Rizzo was? When he came over from the Padres, he had holes in his swing, swung wildly at pitches at his shoe tops, grounded almost everything to the 2B bag and struk out a lot.
Now, he's Joey Votto, Jr.
Now, he's Joey Votto, Jr.

lets just hope castro doesn't start talking shite to him through the media and become brandon phillips jr. Because that'll be the day I drop my defense of castro.

Does anyone have the extra innings package? This is my first year and the games aren't on the 700 channels but is on Root. Is this normal or do I need to call directv?

Big two out rbi hits by Russell and Fowler.
Posted on 4/28/15 at 8:07 pm to TheHumanTornado
No not normal. The games should be on in the 700s. I'm watching right now on directv 737.
Junior Lake having a huge game.
