Relax, no one's hating. Hawthorne's the man. I went into broadcasting because of him..he just has a knack for stuff like this particularly in the latter part of his career. Just making fun-consider it a roast.

Lay off the man. He has a lot more class than all of you gutless cowards who would pee all over yourself if you got behind the mike. It's easy to criticize him, but you could never do what he has done. Gutless cowards-ALL OF YOU CRITICS..

I do it every day. Not that hard when you're used to it. And Jesus take a freakin joke man.

In his defense the 3rd base Ump seemed a little late on the signal Fair.

No, just watched the replay. The ump calls it just as the ball passes him at 3B. And it was clearly fair.

That is not a better view. Regardless, it's his job to call the action accurately, and he does not do it. Simply watch it, let it happen, and call it.

I definitely don't hate him, some great memories I have from being a kid are some of his calls.

But he does try to anticipate calls sometimes and a majority of the time it's assuming the negative. It can sound negative/pessimistic/whatever you want to call it over the radio.

Have an upvote

Off the bat, on TV I thought it was foul... When it passed the bag, I still thought it was foul... I can see how he thought the same, it was a close call.

But you miserable fricks here bitch and cry about everything so I'm not surprised to see this thread

You mean to tell me you sit near me? I'm at the foul pole with excellent vantage point for those hits.
Looked foul to me too. Watched replay on news at home before I could fully accept/enjoy the win. It was indeed fair but that's why umps are paid and we're just fans.

That lovable SOB has done me that a LOT over the years.

I sat on the 3rd base side as well. I thought it was a pretty easy fair call, not really close.
