He's got a great angle on his fastball when he keeps it down. For the last five weeks or so he's leaving them up and getting killed. He's got nothing else. If he can't keep his fastball down I can't believe CPM will keep him closing.

I say go to Newman and Person.

One bad pitch, it happens.

Not sure what Andrew was doing out there, he should have been able to judge that one better

Other than that, he will be fine. No worries

Probably see him in game three

Yeah I think it's about time to ditch the Stallings as closer plan

Actually he has an incredible change up. PM and Dunn called fastball on every single pitch.

If you think Stallings only has a fastball then honestly you don't really follow the team.

Stallings has lost control of his fastball but luckily he is only a freshman. Three more years to get his location up to par. (Up to par for an LSU closer)

I think its closer by committee the rest of the way.

Don't know why we didn't go to Newman in the 8th.

He's a freshman and is learning. He will be good after some development.

Stallings, then Godfrey? lulz

I would also like to add Cartwright could be a closer option, IMO.

He doesnt have the command of a Cotton or the filthy of a Rumbelow. I'm just not confident that he will close out the game when its a close one.

How about we don't have just one guy designated as a "closer".

Stallings is being taught and hopefully will soon learn that a plus-fastball is only as good as it's location against skilled batsmen. When his location is good he's more than adequate. It was awful last night. Thankfully PM yanked him right away and the Tigers' were able to overcome his negative outing. He really needs to expedite a plus breaking pitch to augment his fastball, change-up arsenal. Not sure why he didn't try a change-up or two last night as the Aggie hitters were locked in on his fast-ball.

I said this 3 times last night Newman and Pearson are better than stallings. He's just choking too much.
