Cercei was looking pretty fine last night.

I took it as a nod and wink to the book readers, that Penny wasn't going to be on the show.
Yes. There are pennies in GoT, which is why Tyrion makes the joke about she and her brother's names.

But I doubt Joffrey would have been as gentle in consummating the marriage as Ramsay was.

he seemed pretty grossed out by sex
i actually was hoping for asexuality to be a storyline, but then i kind of figured he'd only be able to have sex while raping sansa and couldn't get it up with margery....which would lead to a couple of renly-based one-liners

He really was fricking awesome. When he shows up to Sansa's wedding to Tyrion, ready to give her away with that goofy look on his face and talking about how thrilled she must be to soon be having a Lannister baby - I had to laugh. He was such a piece of shite. There was a kind of greatness to it.

One of the best actors on the show IMO.

I hope this season gets better. That was a pretty terrible episode. frick THE SAND SNAKES. And it is absolutely shitty storytelling how margaery and loras are in jail. I know Tommen's a pussy but there is no way that overly religious cult could have more authority than the fricking king. And one other thing I didn't understand. Why did loras's lover testify against him? what did he have to gain? He testifies against queen (and king) in favor of the queen mother? That's a dumbass move. And he should know that the religious cult will probably move on him next. Seriously, is there something there that I missed or am not understanding?
fricking pissed off at that episode

The most important scene last night might have been Littlefinger's conversation with Cercei.

Well, I'd say look more into history if you doubt that religious cults can have more power than kings. Hell, look at Henry the VIII. People in Westeros are deeply religious, and murdering a High Septon who actually cared for the people would have huge ramifications.

His own freedom and life. The Faith Militant is like the Spanish Inquisition, in that they'll brutally torture anyone to get their way. They could make him talk for certain.

Like father like daughter
Ehh, Cersei tries to copy and rip off Tywin, but she fails miserably. She's just treating people as Tywin treated her. To be honest, Cersei was the only one of his children I think that saw her for what she truly was. He denied everything about Jaime and Tyrion's true nature to his grave, but he knew what Cersei was. Granted, I think it may have taken until Robert's death for him to realize this, with banishing Ser Barristan, installing the Hound to the Kingsguard, making Janos Slynt the lord of the largest fortress in all Westeros, and allowing Joffrey to kill Ned. He knew that Cersei was violent and dumb and could not see the means for peace.
As Jaime puts it:
quote:
His Sister liked to think of herself as Lord Tywin with teats, but she was wrong. Their father had been as relentless and implacable as a glacier, where Cersei was all wildfire, especially when thwarted...She does not lack for wits but she has no judgement, and no patience.
Plus, I think this scene in season 3 confirms Tywin's feelings on his daughter ( LINK), and Cersei assumes that because Tywin treated her with no respect, he treated everyone else with distain. Now, compare how he treats Olenna and how Cersei treated her: LINK

Fantastic scene with Olenna and Tywin. Like 2 people dancing.

That gif of the fight looked like Charles Barkley trying to hit a golf ball, turrible.

Exactly. Not to mention war and poor leadership has common people hating the leadership and sympathizing with the faith.

Yup. Think Spanish Inquisition and Templars combined. Targ disbanded them for a reason many moons ago as he saw how they could disturb order and threaten secular rule. Now this dumb bitch has turned loose something she can't control.

Doesn't surprise me, did it make sense to you when Selyse told Stannis that Edric was dead?

thanks for the penny explanation.
that gif looks like all stunt doubles which makes sense but at the same time is infuriating bc they should be able to make a fight look good over the actual actors.
also, cersei has to see the danger of cousin lancel right? like that dude needs to have an unfortunate accident and soon for cersei not to get eaten by her own monster.
don't elaborate if that happens in the books but it seems pretty obvious to this hodor. hopefully she'll figure out that lancel is a problem for her.

When you join the faith of the 7 you confess your misdeeds, Lancel would have done that. But it would have been to the previous High Speton. Cersei, aware of that had him arrested in the show, murdered in the book.

but with his new power he technically could implicate her in adultery (with him and others i'd assume) and incest.
but you're making it sound that's not gonna happen so i guess i'll leave it alone.

Right, is it just me or did Cersei basically tell LF how vulnerable King's Landing is currently. She told him that Kevan wasn't around and neither was Jaime. She has control of no army. Why would she tell LF that? Seems like a mistake to me.

Well, like everyone else but Tyrion and Varys, Cersei stupidly trusts LF. I doubt she'd ever dream that LF would directly attack King's Landing or have the means to do so.
