Sadie was a beautiful dog and very lucky to have had you as her best friend. Don't forget - Lady will be missing her too.

Damn. That story was simultaneously beautiful and heartbreaking.

It is horrible. 2/21/11 was a horrible day for our family. We said good by to Daisy (12 YO Golden). But when time came we got Sawyer. The character below. Love today with your dog. Tomorrow is not promised. We love Sawyer just as much as we did Daisy. Your heart for dogs is very very big.

Man I feel for you. I had a yellow lab for 13years. Hearing the vet tell me it was time to put her down. Sitting in that room rubbing her ears like she always loved was the hardest thing to do. She will never be forgotten. It gets better with time but you never forget. Now 4 years later I just got a chocolate lap puppy she brings so much joy to my family and myself. Hang in there.

it's weird but I think there's something to that,
I don't care who says different, they're wrong. I've tried several times to describe what happened just before my lab went. I can't without breaking down and I'm not going to try anymore. I will say that for a few moments, we were more in touch than I've ever been with any human being.

You know it's crazy how dogs can read and understand our emotions. I guess their ability to do that developed over the thousands of years of working with humans.
I still love how dogs love you unconditionally....they don't care what you look like, how many friends you have, they will love you no matter what!!!!

Better you do it than a cop.

It is one of the worst feeling in the world. I am so sorry for you family and Lady as well. Give Sadie her best day ever! Last year the dog I grew up with had to be put down it was terrible and hard but having my own dog at the time helped. Our other dog still misses him and looks for him time to time.
The memories you have will always be there, stay strong.
All I know is dogs are a million times more better than people and can make the strongest of men to cry when they have to watch their best friend past away.
Dogs come into our lives to teach us about love. They depart to teach us about loss. New dogs can never replace a former one – they merely expand the heart. If you have loved many dogs your heart is very big.
Cheers to you and Sadie

Like kids do during a certain age....Only dogs never outgrow that stage. Sucks that they don't live that long. Dogs should have lifespans like tortoises.

My lab is 15yrs and getting very tired too. Love him dearly and will truly miss him when we have to put him down. Sorry for your loss. Love them life long friends.

I always see this as the last loving act you can do for your pet. When I put my 14 year old black lab down 3 or so years ago I had a gut cry unlike any other I have ever had. But, you gradually move on with great memories.
