Didn't think it was possible to turn Wrigley more into a dump...

does this organization do anything right? Even when the future looks bright it's like they just can't help themselves but find a way to shite the bed.

Their idea to continue renovations during the season is going to hurt tremendously. That link is disgusting

I don't understand why they couldn't just get a ton of Port-O-Johns.

Everything was fine from my couch.
I'll be completely honest here, as I'm a huge Cubs fan. There is no excuse, at least none that I can think of, good enough to have the video board operating first before the bathrooms.
There at least had to be some kind of backup plan and for that the Cubs should be to blame. That's inexcusable.

Field looked like absolute shite on TV last night. How did they time that construction so poorly?

It looks like the national narrative is set that the Cub's management will get run through the ringer for blocking the rooftop views.

It really did. Opening night should've been in St. Louis so a nice stadium could've been televised nationally instead of whatever abortion we had to look at last night.

Electricians arent working on the plumbing. Snowfall has made this a complete disaster. Is there a college park they could be playing at. Or even US Cellular Field.

I don't live in Chicago so I guess I really had no rooting interest either way, but Wrigley Field desperately needed a makeover. And I live in a state that panders to the lowest common denominator when it comes to infrastructure progress, so I really don't mind what the Cubs did to their own park.

That all notwithstanding, how were there no temporary bathrooms? That just doesn't make sense.

The story I was told wast that the Cubs wanted to play the whole season in another stadium. Maybe Milwaukee. Then option 2 was to play a ton of games on the road the first 2 months of the season and had a deal worked out with the White Sox to play the home games that they did have to play at US Cellular over the first 2 months. But ESPN called and wanted opening night at Wrigley against he Cards and all those plans got put in the shitter.

Part of that is correct. Milwaukee was an option, but when asked about about playing across town @ the whitesox that ruled out because of logistical reasons - meaning that its easier to play in Milwaukee than across town?

I think the Cubs being broadcast nationally on WGN changed the rooftops dramatically over time. 30 years ago it was basically the people that lived in the building. A few dudes with a cooler and lawn chairs. Eventually the buildings started renting out the roof tops, they set up mini bleachers and even sold space to advertisers.
