Solar Road Ways

How much would it cost to install a Solar Driveway and how soon would it pay for it's self. It would be so cool to light up a many basketball court, hopscotch or four square grid for your kids to play on.

That is an amazing concept. I'm sure the initial cost of replacing the entire road infrastructure of cities, towns, and the country in totality would be a massive undertaking, but in the end it could pay off.

I like the idea a lot in theory...just can't see how it would be durable enough to be feasible in reality, though...

The idea and idea alone are the only thing cool and viable about this project.. How do the lights project surface marking during the day? What glass is strong enough to handle this type of continues ware and tear

I'm sure everyone on here could afford to pay for it for their whole city.

It would be cool if 80,000 pound trucks didn't have to drive on them.

If we can't build concrete roads that last what makes someone think we could build one out of solar panels?

make the roof of your house out of them, will melt the snow in the winter, support your team on game day, celebrate holidays in style.

They wouldn't look so pretty with skid marks, cracks, etc. Plus it turns out they're pretty damn expensive.
