I know you can piss on people.

It's been in all of them. Just saying that after Fable 1 the series really turned south. Fable 2 was ok but the rest have been.... ugh.

Hope you are not playing on something that the GB snobs will criticize.

My HP desktop from Best Buy.
And it's the best one you can get at Best Buy. God knows how much I overpaid for an inferior machine.

One of the first games out on PS. Was a tekken type game. Had the dude with the long spear, Hondo maybe? The old Chinese guy special move was turn and power fart.

Fable never lived up to what was advertised.

Tell me about that. I think the real time aspect was probably pretty cool for the time. There are a lot of escort quests, but you can make the guy wait in a corner on the other side of the map, and then just go tell him to follow again once you kill everyone so it's not nearly as frustrating as some other games are.
Was it just the dynamic interaction aspect? It is pretty crappy for whatever they were trying to do. People don't remember you much, conversations don't really change. If you want to get married, you just push the flirt interaction six times in a row and give them a ring. It's retardedly simple, but whatever. Is that basically what they promised and didn't deliver on - the dynamic town aspect?
I don't quite understand how all the renown and boasting works, but I've still done well with it. It's all maxed out - I'm "good". I'd rather complete the quests than try to figure that out, so I'm glad I don't have to.

A lot of the problems currently surrounding the series can be linked back to false public perception of the originals size, scope and quality. We all remember the infamous, “it’ll be the best game ever” and “you’ll be able to plant a tree and watch it grow” statements made by Peter Molyneux while Fable was in development. Gamers were led to believe they would be embarking on an adventure unlike any other with an immersive world that would grow and change around them. Expectations were huge with many willing to board the hype train in excitement, but upon release Fable paid the price for its grandiose advertisement and was met with massive fan backlash.
While Fable was a great title, it failed to deliver the genre defining experience Molyneux had so enthusiastically promised leaving many, like me, feeling short changed.

That's why hype sucks. Because if you can accept the game for what it is, it's a good game. Obviously their own fault for promoting such big things

When I think of a game that began the whole "over-promise, under-deliver" trend in gaming, I think of Fable.

It was supposed to be an epic game, ended up being 100% complete able in 10 hours or less.

Fable 2 was just as incredible IMO. I think the only other game I ever played as crazy as Fable 2 was Fallout 3.
Fable 3 was godawful so yeah, you're 100% right about that.

ETA: IDK how much the lost chapters added
