I went and bought my own tank at lowes. I get it refilled/ topped off at the hardware store. At least I know I'm not getting a fricked up tank that's gonna leak or something.

I refill my tanks (I keep 2 in rotation) at Brothers Ace Hardware on Millerville. The tank exchange places fill the tanks about 3/4 full--read the fine print at those sites.

Zachary Tractor aupply is the cheapest.
Use the swap out service to tuen in terrible tanks for a new replacement.
I pull the sticker and paint a two inch stripe around the tank so I know it's mine.

Around here Costco is the cheapest by far for refills. I only swap if my tank is out of date.

It costs me $7-$8 to refill a tank usually. Exchange is $20. Most I paid when prices were up was $12 for the refill.

check the stamped dates on the tanks you swap out. Get one with the most recent date. Some places can be hard asses about re-filling an out of date tank.

I use the old lady on arnold rd. often. KOA and live oak hardware are two more. Heres an example. Last weekend I ran out of gas while cooking. Ran to carters grocery, the closest place, and did a 5 gal swap. 24 dollars with tax. Couple days later I took my 7.5 gal bottle to live oak and they filled it for 19 bucks. If the stamp date is over 10 years they usually wont refill it.

If you're swapping out tanks, you're throwing away money. Refilling is the only option I consider.
I swap them out when they get a little bit older. Pretty sure they have to be reinspected after 12 years, then frequently thereafter. When they get around 10 years old, I will swap them out then continue refilling the replacement.

I worked there and filled tanks there my junior and senior year of HS almost 20 years ago.
Oh yeah? I worked there from 1998 to around 2001 and grew up with Eddie. Did you work for Charlie and Leroy or Steve?
