How do you deal with dog parents?

Lady comes into work this morning. Starts talking about her dogs. Then she says "they are exactly like having kids." I laugh and she stares at me. Then I say "well with dogs, it certainly can seem that way at times." She then asks if I want to see pictures but I politely declined. I was thinking, "I know what a Golden Retriever looks like. I don't want to see your pictures".

I don't know, but they are the worst.

Mock them and call their fur babies ugly.

It's funny you mention this. It doesn't really bother me a lot, but I have really started to see this lately with acquaintances. They literally treat the dogs like children, by including them in 'family pictures' and even having parents watch the dog.
I can't understand for the life of me why you need to drop your dog off at your parents so you can go out for dinner and a few drinks.

The same way I deal with anyone who gives too shares too much information. Nod with a smile while saying things like: "Oh yeah" "Definitely" "Surrrre" "Right?!".

Ask her "when it comes to cutting your dog's hair, what is your position on doggie style?"

Ignore and/or make fun of them.

I won't turn down the opportunity to look at a good pup. You sound like a douche.

I like dogs okay, but I'm not a "dog person". I guess I'm with you on this one, man.

My dog is a rescue so I don't know his parents
