It's a freakikg donut. IMO none of the fancy craft donuts of the new world are better than a hot glazed donut from Krispy Kreme.

I haven't ever really bought or eaten any of the fancy donuts, but is the OP right that the crazy ones with all kinds of different toppings and filling are supposed to be served hot? I thought only regular glazed were best eaten hot?

Yep. I don't eat many sweets, and a lot of the fancy donuts sound painful.
But a piping hot glazed donut is awesome. Mr. Ronnie's is walking distance to the house and I STILL haven't tried one. Maybe I'll go get one now.

It's a freaking beer. IMO, none of the fancy craft beers of the new world are better than beechwood aged beer from Budweiser.

This. The standard glazed Krispy Kreme is a top 3 doughnut for me. The only "craft" doughnut that has ever come close was the Voodoo doll doughnut from Voodoo Donuts in Portland, OR. It was delicious and hilarious. The best I've ever had was one of the places in New Orleans that does a Bavarian creme filled doughnut topped with powdered sugar.
