Are cash bars at weddings ever acceptable?

I have to go to a distant cousin's wedding, but he's poor so it will probably be a cash bar. It's going to be awful.

I would be embarrassed to be seen at a cash bar wedding

Bring a flask
But make sure to invite this cousin to your wedding with an open bar, but make him pay

Yeah, no shite. There is absolutely no way I will be able to make it through sober.

I went to a wedding where they had Beer and Wine but the rest of the liquor was part of the cash bar.

I've seen that as well. I say at least the couple is trying to keep their guests happy.

I've been to one and they were baptists. It was a short day wedding so I didn't mind.

I've found the further from New Orleans you go the more common it is to see a cash bar.
Not everyone has tons of money. I've been to a wedding that literally served food in party trays from Walmart. It was still a nice event.

Would you rather a cash bar or a dry wedding?
At least you'll have the option to drink

Cash bar at a wedding is never acceptable.
I would rather a beer/wine offering, or no booze at all, over a cash bar.

Better than a dry wedding but anyone who puts on either is probably someone I wouldn't want to be around

I would prefer free but if I forced to go to a wedding which is usually the case I would at least like to have the option to drink even if I have to pay for it.
