For the right price... hell yeah!

If he comes cheap then I don't see the problem in making an offer!

we are eliminating players with character and locker room issues, and you want us to pursue one that quit on his team? not happening.

I don't see mike giving anyone a discount and with lockerroom presence being a priority I'm thinking that would exclude him from consideration

Btw is Crabtree a free agent or an expected cut?? How much do you guys think it would take to sign him.

This. He comes off as the type of players that we have been getting rid of.

He's got some character issues which we are currently trying to clean out of our locker room, but we did just sign Browner who was suspended before, and we have taken chances on guys like Shockey who didn't get along with everyone in the locker & organization......I'd say definitely worth bringing him in for a talk, see where his head is at, maybe playing for his hometown team and catching passes from Brees would entice him to keep his head on straight.....I wouldn't think his price tag would be too high, possibly even a 1yr deal could do it

Free agent. He's had 0 visits so far. Not sure if that's his choosing, or a lack of interest. I expect to start hearing his name more now that the "second wave" of Free Agency is starting. Maybe he'll take a one year "prove-it" deal?

Crabtree wants to go to a team who throws the ball more than San Fran. We fit that mold (so does most every other NFL team)

Wow. Thanks for the response but I would of expected Crabtree to be one of the premier fa on the market.

We should take a look at Stevie Smith, Crabtree and Wallace. If one comes cheap, sign him.

maybe. no. and no..
Smith was a flash in the pan, but he may be worth a shot. Crabtree and Wallace are character issues. If we sign either of those two, then we have just undid every damn thing we have done the last few days.
If you want a veteran WR, go look at Reggie Wayne. He still has something left, will come cheap and will bring the strong locker room presence that this team is looking for.
To address the Browner statement up above, he is not a character problem. He is actually a strong locker room presence. His suspension was drug related, and some of the punishments were questionable. However, he has not been a brat in the locker room bringing problems like we had last year. By all accounts his past is truly his past. Unlike Wallace though, he doesn't quit on his team

If the team wanted him, wouldn't they have included him in the trade for Stills. If Miami was trying to cut/move him, I'm sure they would have brought him up in negotiations.
