While I agree, I have seen him say a bunch of times that a team with a losing record in conference doesn't deserve a bid.....

How the hell can that man say that with a straight face? They have lost 60% of their games since January, they can't beat any team with a pulse, and they feasted off cream puffs such as TTU to pad their record. They choke all the time. Since January, 5 OF THEIR 6 WINS came against the three worst teams in the conference: TTU, KSU, and TCU. What a damn shame if that team gets a bid.

They got helped out a shite ton today. So many bubble teams choked. Think Indiana was the only one to actually help themselves.

They don't deserve to be in but the bubble is such a train wreck they will get in. Probably lose in Dayton since they are so poorly coached but they will be in.
Would much rather watch a team like Tulsa or Murray State though. It is what it is.

May be true, but neither of those teams have better resumes than Texas.
I don't feel bad for Tulsa, they play in a weak conference and lost all of their decent OOC games plus a very bad loss to Oral Roberts and then lost every big conference game. Total frauds.

Well I don't feel nearly as poorly for Tulsa, really feel bad for Murray though. Much harder to build a resume in the OVC and they did dominate their conference.
But without a quality win they are stuck on the outside looking in, meanwhile Texas doesn't beat anyone on the road and is rewarded for being mediocre in the Big 12. Just don't like it, Texas is not a great team at all.

I remember him for the longest time saying if it was up to him they wouldn't get in.reason being they were below .500 in their conference. Don't know if they still are

Maybe so, but Texas didn't lose a single bad game, they are probably the only bubble team without a single bad loss.
Technically RealTimeRPI counts their road win @UCONN as a quality win, and they beat #14 Baylor and #20 WVU.
You can't punish Texas for losing road games to Top 20 ranked teams.
Texas may not be a great team, but they're pretty decent. They battled in just about every game with some really really good teams. They lost to Iowa State, @OU, @Kansas by a combined 9 points. I sure as hell wouldn't want to play a battle tested team like Texas in the first round.

I don't think that is much of an accomplishment. I see a team that went 3-12 against the RPI top 50 and that to me says mediocre team that had a ton of chances to build a better resume and didn't. They are just a team with a good RPI because they beat a few good teams at home, avoided bad losses and had a tough SOS thanks to being in a great conference.
They are very lucky that the bubble basically fell apart today. I would love to play to Texas in round 1, coaching is huge this time of year and their coach is awful and they don't seem like a team that will rise above any kind of adversity.

You may not, but the committee has said many times bad losses/quality wins is maybe the biggest factor they look at.

And their OOC was strong, NDSU, @UCONN, Kentucky...those all boost the RPI as well, especially Kentucky.
I will always prefer rewarding a team that has played a gauntlet of a schedule over a team that plays much much weaker competition.

Their OOC is solid. But I guess we just have different viewpoints, I don't think they are really that impressive but they are definitely going to be in the field. If Murray had a solid quality win or Tulsa didn't lose to ORU it might be a bit more interesting. But those teams don't have that and even if Tulsa makes a run in the AAC tournament to bolster their resume I don't think Texas is even the team that could get bumped out.
But again I don't think going 3-12 against top 50 teams is that great, I think their RPI is kind of inflated by their conference and avoiding bad losses.

RPI 42. Colley has them at 37. What's the problem?

LSU wins the SEC tourney. Plays texas in a 5/12 round 1 matchup.

the fact that hes got Arkansas as a 5 seed loses all credibility with me.

I don't know half as much as JL does, but I don't see any reasonable explanation for why Texas should make it. I was watching tv this morning and they had a Pros and Cons list for texas to make it. The first Pro they listed was "15-0 against sub-150 teams". I laughed out loud...that's seriously what they have to hang a hat on, that they didn't lose to shite teams? The first Con mentioned was they were something atrocious against top 100 teams. And their losing confernce record. And they have been sliding hard the last month.
I mean seriously other than them having a big name why should they get in?
