Per Darla's Request
It's still under construction but what the hell
This is from about a month ago before they put the tile down and before appliances went in
Before the granite got cut for the cooktop
That's a 30" induction range :) Thought about doing 36" but 30" seemed more than adequate and I think a 36" would have overfilled the space. If you look up to the top left there is a line for a pot filler. Don't know that I'll get a ton of use out of it but it's there. Praise Allah
You can see the tile is down now. Considered putting a warming drawer below the oven but I don't think I can justify it.
Nothing special about the microwave. If it can melt butter and make popcorn it's good enough for me.
Another old pic before the tile
This is opposite the stove, looking into the living room
I like this one because you can see the molding work. I'll be painting over the beige.
This is in the foyer obviously but had to put some NOLA charm into the house somehow

You should change those plug plates out on bar.
I had sam ones, dark looks better.
Nice kitchen looks lot like mine.
Just curious, why didn't you do a gas range.?

Beautiful! Did you both choose things or did one of you have more input than the other?
I hope to be making a similar thread, but it will be a while.

That looks similar in style to many of the new houses built around here the last several years. Very popular colors and style.
I looked hard at going with induction during a remodel, but I went with 36" gas instead. I read lots of good stuff about induction, but I don't know anyone personally who has really cooked on it for a time. I chickened out w/o a trustworthy personal experience to go on. Let us know how yours is after you get up and running.
Congratulations on the new digs.

I'll just say one thing. The ceiling is very pretty with all the wood detail so why choose those 3 little, cheap looking lights? I love the ceiling, but not the Home Depot lights.
I'm sorry for being negative! Light kit in ceiling fan? Another no no.

You have ONLY an induction range? I thought there were some limitations to those.

I always wanted an induction so that's what I got
I think the gas ranges have a better look but induction is a lot easier to clean and the temp control is better than electric or gas IMO

It's just me Darla
That being said, I came in mid-construction so a lot of it is just what the builder put in (like the back splash for instance)
Hence all the beige paint. I plan on painting over all of it.

The limitation is you have to have cookware that works with it
Other than that there are no limitations

Right. It's superior to gas.
