Thanks, that's kind of what I was hoping to hear. United is more convenient time wise. Neither of us are big people (contrary to a 9 year old picture floating around) so we don't NEED the extra room unless the price is reasonable.

Flying Delta tomorrow to South Florida.

That's pretty much international.

Quit being a plane snob. They will both get you to the same place.

Delta has been voted best Domestic carrier for several years in a row now - there are much better options for flying internationally though.

However you are comparing the Best vs Worst of the US majors with your question

I believe you, but delta domestic is horrible so that's like being elected mayor of diarrheaville. Congrats on the win.

I use both for international flights to Asia and Europe. My advice would be to check the type of plane being flown when you pick your ticket. Older 747's may be a little cheaper but I like the comfort and technology of the 777's. United still uses a good many 747's that are in need of updating. Delta has a great fleet on most Euro flights.

I usually fly Delta for international flights. I've only used United once for an international so limited comparison, but Delta hands-down.

I've flown United to Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Ft McMurray, Frankfurt, San Juan, PR, Trinidad.

All have been smooth as can be, all direct flights out of IAH with the exception of Ft McMurray connecting in Denver.

US airways to the Bahamas sucked as did American to St. Lucia

Of those 2, Delta in a heartbeat. For the same price, I'd take British Air though.

Delta is much better internationally than United in my experience. United was pretty unreliable for the transatlantic flights I flew with them (multiple cancellations and shite customer service and support).

Checked. Both are 757-200s. Again, price doesn't matter because we aren't paying. I have made this more difficult than it should be. Typical woman.

Take the shortest duration. Coach seating and service on American carriers don't generally offer a whole lot of variances between airlines on international hauls.

This!

I hate United and American airlines. Long waits to get the on plane if you are not priority and no bag room once you do. No free drinks even with your meal.
