Worth a try, I like the move.
Not sure why he didn't do it this past weekend if that was his intent. The way Foster is swinging the bat you need to get him on the field. KRob is your best option at 2B defensively.

Please be banned from all baseball threads moving forward. I'm dead serious. This is the dumbest thing ever posted by any rantard.

While I don't agree it's best for our team, in deference to the move to 2B for Bregs, it's talked about all over in MLB circles. So the idea of trying that is not as whacked as you all believe.

11-13-14 - Minor League Madhouse - 10. Philadelphia Phillies: Alex Bregman, SS/2B LSU - While it’s pretty obvious that JP Crawford is the heir apparent for when Jimmy Rollins does eventually retire, (my over/under is 2016), the question remains how long his double play partner, Chase Utley will be around. While Utley did bounce back a bit this year, it’s time for the Phillies to start developing another infield talent. Alex Bregman has been one of the more celebrated collegians, especially since he was an All American pick in his freshman year. Bregman may not have been as good in his sophomore year, dropping his draft stock from top 5 to top 10, but given his potential, there is bound to be at least one team interested in nabbing him at a slot discount. Bregman is a reliable producer who will be a solid offensive contributor if used well, and the Phillies would greatly benefit adding him to a roster that would include his Tigers teammate, Aaron Nola. LINK /
9-30-14 - 9-30-14 – Through The Fence - 6. Minnesota Twins — Alex Bregman, SS, LSU - Bregman is a ballplayer. Aside from all of his intangibles and instincts for the game, he is also one of the better hitters in the 2015 MLB draft. After a sensational freshman year in which he hit .369/.417/.546 over 67 games with 16 stolen bases, he put together another impressive season as a sophomore. Over 63 games, he hit .316/.397/.455 with 16 doubles, six home runs and 12 stolen bases. He has drawn 51 walks to just 46 strikeouts over 130 career games, showing an advanced approach at the plate. He has been a member of Team USA baseball since his high school days, and you won’t find a better leader. Some are split on whether he can remain at shortstop, but even if he moves over to second, the bat would play up. LINK
9-11-14 – Fangraphs Top 50 Players in Draft - 12. Alex Bregman, SS, LSU: One of the most famous players in college baseball had a bit of a down sophomore campaign and some scouts think he still fits better at 2B as a pro, but he flashes four above average tools and double-digit homer power from a simple swing. LINK /
8-14-14 - 4. Alex Bregman, SS (Louisiana State, Jr.). The consensus Freshman of the Year in 2013, he wasn't as spectacular at LSU or with Team USA as a sophomore. Bregman still paced the college national team in runs (20), RBIs (17) and steals (10), and he still drew Dustin Pedroia comparisons for his all-around package of tools. Bregman is an aggressive right-handed hitter with pull power, and his instincts enable his average-to-solid speed and arm strength to play up on the bases and in the field. He's not as fluid as a typical Major League shortstop, so most scouts project him as a second baseman.
"Bregman always hits and he hits it hard," an area scout said. "He has some power and speed, and I think he has a chance to play shortstop." LINK
6-30-14 – Through The Fence – Early College Prospects - 3. Alex Bregman, SS, LSU - I could talk about Bregman all day. I have been a fan since his Team USA Baseball days in high school, and you aren’t going to find a better leader and person out there — on and off the field. Aside from his intangibles and instincts for the game, he also happens to be a damn good player. After a freshman season in which he hit 369/.417/.546 over 67 games with 18 doubles, seven triples, six home runs and 16 stolen bases, the 6’-1” right-hander put up impressive numbers again this year. Over 63 games, he hit .316/.397/.455 with 16 doubles, six home runs and 12 stolen bases. He has drawn 51 walks to just 46 strikeouts over 130 career games, showing an advanced approach at the plate. More power should come as he matures, and he has all the tools to stick at shortstop but could end up at second base at the next level. LINK
6-4-14 - Mack - LSU SS/2B Alex Bregman is what you would call a pure hitter. He led his college team in hits, doubles, triples, and steals... as a freshman... earning him Baseball America's Freshman of the Year. He has a fair amount of pop and it's tough to find a weakness in his game. Scouts said he easily would have been one of the top ten picks in 2014, if he was eligible. Righ

I like the move to test the waters, and I trust Coach when it comes to defensive changes....anyone remember a guy by the name of Nola in 2009?

I was more referring to the notion of switching Krob (who is a mediocre 2B at best) and Bregs. I actually agree he's more of a fit at 2B in MLB terms. But let's be honest, he's probably the best SS in college baseball. The idea of switching him 2B in favor of Krob at SS is just ridiculous.

If this were the OT, I would say that sounds dirty….thankfully this isn't the OT though.

I think its a slight overreaction as well. But I also think the switch works for both players.

I lol'd. This is great.

Zardon is batting .333, though that is 7th on the team at this point. A .857 fielding percentage at third is inexcusable at this point. I'd like to see Byrd out there in a "let him take his lumps as a freshman" kind of way.
I do like what Hale to 3rd does for our team if we keep KRob in.

That number means nothing. Take away Hale's put outs at 1B, and his is just as bad. It's only 3 errors. And he's made some great plays. 3 on slow rollers. 2 good ones to his left. The leaping catch. And his arm is really really strong.

Do you even sample size, bro?

Tell me you don't really believe this. Bregman is the most overhyped player at LSU I can ever remember.

And this may belong in both of these threads:
Hale has 6 assists and 2 errors. 8 ground balls hit at him for those rantard out there. With both of those errors on easy ground balls at 2B.
Zardon has 14 assists and 3 errors. 17 ground balls hit at him.
I'm not knocking Hale at all. He's a good infielder. But damn, people need to back off Zardon. It's like everyone suddenly "sees what PM sees" just because he made comments.
Imo, Hale had a worse game at 2B than Zardon had at 3B. But PM has made a big deal about this one for some reason. My point. People are sheep.

I don't mind the experiment for a midweek game. It is not a panic move.
Even if our infield defense suffers a bit this year (which I expect), hopefully our offense should be able to bail us out most of the time.

I midweek experiment is one thing. It's fine. I've said here that of course now is the time to tinker. But 2 things here. PM flat out said he thinks Hale is better to the public. And to me I don't like the double standards which this just highlights.

CPM is telling the media that this is a long term move. Spoke in past tense when speaking about Zardon "didn't get it done" at third base.

And in the same article he said that Zardon would likely still see some playing time at 3B.
