Oh, and it’s pretty powerful, too. 623bhp powerful. And a certain tame racing driving racer wouldn’t let it leave the Top Gear studio before grabbing the keys for one hot, and occasionally sideways, lap around the TG track.

Did they ever say who the Stig actually was?
I know they said it was Michael Schumacher, but Ferrari wouldn't let anyone else drive his FXX, so he did it as the Stig.

It is a secret that is known by a lot of people, but revealing the Stig is kind of like saying Santa is not real. The theories are better than the real story.
Also, there is a lot of belief that there are multiple people playing the part just due to logistics.

5k worth of Rigid is easily outperformed by 500$ worth of HID.
LED is for up close, side lighting, and reverse lights. HID is to see everything from up close to miles away.
