This could not be more wrong in the context of people declaring the picture absolutely shows a white and gold dress and anyone who sees black and blue is wrong. It's not like my brain accidentally got the real color of the dress correct.
If it was shown that the dress was actually white and gold, I would understand that my eyes and brain were misinterpreting the dress as black and blue.
Also a million times this.

Why did you post a pic of a white box?

Which one is more correct the actual way or the way it appears? That is what is being argued.
Everyone is aware the dress is actually black and blue.
Due to the picture being odd, some people see it as something other than black or blue.
Them saying, "I see it as white and gold" isn't an "incorrect" statement. It simply reflects that there is an optical illusion effect happening.
Now, if there are people saying, "because I see it as white and gold, it in fact IS white and gold" then they're just being stupid.
That would be like saying, "because I am see the optical illusion that makes the moon look double it's size on the horizon, the moon in fact doubled its size".
I guess people get bent out of shape because they are referred to as being "fooled" by the optical illusion and interpret that to mean "fooled" in the same way being suckered means.
But, that's not how optical illusions work.

Can someone explain to me how a thread about the color of a dress is 45 pages?

So again, the debate shifted from what color it actually is to what it looks like, and no one is wanting to acknowledge it.

You do realize that you'reone of the contrarians you were talking about, right?
Posted on 2/27/15 at 9:42 am to sicboy
I don't the debate was ever what color it actually is.
