Seems to me that as long as you've got fresh, clean Gulf Oysters in stock that are being consumed raw, it's pretty tough to screw them up.
This is why I'm seeking clarification on the price. I might start stopping there on the way to or back from BR to knock down a dozen if they're selling the for six bucks a dozen.

how could I forget to mention their homemade cocktail sauce? I think that was what put joes over the top. I may try and see if the GF wants to go back tomorrow since it is Lent afterall. is there somewhere else yall would recommend going?

If you are just getting oyster you are really missing out on a great meal. Oysters are the same everywhere, you really need to try Joe's signature items.

I love the Rajin Cajun steamer pot. Looks a little Tejas style to me with all that good seasoning on the shells, but what do I know.

Yeah, I ain't interested in that, for any food item.
Just give me a bottle of pepper sauce to dash on top each oyster and I'm good. I'll eat the crackers afterwards if I need help filling up.

Says, half a dozen is $3.99, which is a good price but not quite the same thing. The "prices" on that link seem all kind of jacked up, though. They also show a "seafood platter" for $3.99.

raw oysters are raw oysters. Some are bigger and some are smaller. Some are fresher and some arent.
But there is no secret recipe for raw oysters.
With that said, No way Joes chargrilled oysters are better than Dragos. Havent had Joes, but had Dragos and they are some of the best ive ever had.
